Hello. I'm a veteran gamer who started in the video arcade era. I don't miss the primitive graphics of early games. They were fun, but repetitive. With some exceptions, 'Empire Earth I', 'Ultima 3&4', Atari's StarRaiders, quake I, doom 1, and others.

I don't have the reflexes of 16 year old anymore. However, my tactical skills are somewhere between master and grand master. Not that can't hold my own in most older FPS games. The newer games like the 'The Witcher' series and 'Command and Conquer Generals - Zero Hour' test my tactical skills.

'STYX: Master of Shadows' is more about tactics than reflexes. It pushes my skills to the limit. Learning the moves and tactics as a play. Still can't get the mercy badge or the finish under a time limit. Usually, I have to kill at 30% to get past a section and it takes 2-3 times or more than the time limit for a level.

This is first time through it. Repeated one level to get +40 exp.

Lots of FPS games have greatly improved my driving skills. Accidents me? Near zero. ;)
I've not tried "thronebreaker" yet and 'witcher adventure game' yet. Lots of games to try yet. Hard reset is fun, play it through many times.

Metro - Last Light got annoying with gas masks lasting 5 mins. So, I just quit at some point and have not played it again. If their were a mod to make masks like 2-3hrs, it would play so much better. It lacks an easy mode, it plays as very hard.
Why not try one of the GOG Discords?
You are supposed to rush through Metro - Last Light, which goes against my nature too but I still bought it during the spring sale as the price was finally low enough. I found this technique to extend the time:

Is the whole game like that, or only parts of it?

I hate when games rush me like that (time limits or whatever), unless it is some specific level or situation in the game. So no, I didn't mind that e.g. in Descent 1-2 you had to rush out of the mines after you blow their reactor. Or I think some Star Wars FPS had one level where you must escape from a failing ship.

You sound like me then. I got the impression you had already played it with "that technique" to extend air supply.

Well, maybe some day I will play it...

Did you finish the first game yet? I am in the beginning, waiting for my interest in it to return.

When your inside, you don't need the masks. Outdoors you need them all the time. If you try to rush through it at its very hard default setting, you'll just get killed a lot quicker.

The masks have to be replaced every 5 mins. You don't have time to use your tactical skills. It's just rush through at maximum possible speed. Outside it's either suffocate or get killed making a critical mistake.

It's a great tactical fps. Once you add the absurdly low time limit on masks, it's just too frustrating and painful to play.

Overall 2/5 stars, for it's failure with the masks. UGH!

Discord is a gaming centered instant messaging platform. So think of these like IRC channels on a specific platform. There's Wing of GOG, and two others.
Can anyone here answer my question about the wall panel button?

Hi!

Are you excited to play Cyberpunk 2077?
low rated
did you ever engage in a total war game? warhammer 2 is such a doll in that respect

take this battle i was in last night, enemy forces managed to engage me on a 2 to 1 basis, my forces a mixture of very high cost and some low grade with the enemy containing some high grade and many low cost base troops.

i was in also in a disadvantage since the enemy leader who attacked has a special skill that will turn any normal battle into an ambush battle which puts positive modifiers on the attacking troops and some negative modifiers on the defenders

As soon as the battle started i decided to pull my troops back into this wide opened pace piece of land so my ranged troops would have a clear sight in the enemy

it wasn't before long before i was engaged by the first force feeling apparently very confident they could attack or weaken me enough so the 2d force could overtake my forces.

the whole ghame turned into a chess play of moving forces delaying attacks especially made difficult because another special skill of the leader which allowed them to summon forces from the ground behind my lines.

3 times i was planning something such as a cavalry attack on their flanks or moving my only artillery piece to a better suited place of land to have my plannes foiled by sneaky placed attack of low level troops suddenly appearing from the ground

during this battle i used the pause key to be sure i could steer this multi fronted battlezone into something more favorable to my taste.

had this been real time only, the battle would have lasted for about 10 mins which now turned into something franticly turn based taking about 45 mins to finish with me deliberatly taking time to reëvaluate the battle field, hold my nerves and try to look like a disciplined commander all taken together

granted, total war's style is certainly not for everyone but.... even with the a.i. set to normal difficulty they manage to create a challenge which could certainly appeal to people enjoying such offers

if this battle would have been on a harder difficulty level i guess i would have lost, since the a.i. is also able to gather its forces and march as a whole not to mention the more devastating magics the a.i. has to its disposal to really harm troops
