So, while I was browsing for new UK Blu-rays and stumbled upon the release of "Hard To Be A God" which is defintely my type of dope ( https://youtu.be/U-cIDknVCj8 ), it reminded me of a movie which I had only seen a part of and I wanted to watch it completely but I don't recall the title :(

So, the infos:
- Russian (and Russian-spoken obviously...)
- Shot in black&white and probably between the late 50's to early 70's
- From what I vaguely recall, it was a small group (3-4 people, one woman included) of scientific researchers lost in the wilderness
- Big moment was a widespread wildfire where all the nature was set ablaze (impressive as there were no FX at this time so it' was for real...)
- I think it was edited by Criterion

So, any tips?
I am not getin' what you are putin down.

Could you try to remember some other details? It doesn't remind me of anything I've seen, but perhaps with the right query (in Russian) Google might do the trick.
Alternatively, well, there's always Wiki.

Also, most of the soviet era movies were black and white (especially in the specified time frame)

Damn you Google, why are you connected to my mind??!!!!

Yep, that's "Letter Never Sent"! Thanks ^o^
I'm gonna look for it in my own collection now....

Watch that kids, this ain't your traditional indoor-studios 50's movie:

(with english subs but low quality, duh....)

With HD restoration (that's why we need Stalker on Blu-ray):

Moscow on the Hudson! :P
I love threads like this that bring me to the attention of movies I don't know. I'm looking forward to watching both The Letter Never Sent (I love wilderness/survival movies) and The Bedford Incident now!
