Hello to all,

I'm looking for a game that could have some specific features. I guess the game would fall on the RPG category. These would be the 4 criteria:

- open world like Skyrim/Elder Scrolls
- with character creation
- having limitations in the beginning of the game, like, you can't get full of gear in a matter of minutes, you can't carry tons of different objects. In other words you start of in a humble sort of way, with almost nothing, and slowly, you can get your first weapon or something like this. That would make it more immersive, slow, and adventure like.
- and easy to understand skills and stats, just a list of features that increase if you're doing the appropriate actions (not these hard-to-grasp charts of skill points)

Is there a game like that upthere? The closest things I found where Risen, Skyrim and Two Worlds II.

Thanks for the help!

GOTHIC 1 and 2
On here, divinity 2. Dungeon lords, oblivion, morrowind etc.. Your description is too vague however, most RPGs allow your points. Any preference on viewport, party, fantasy or future etc. Narrow it down a bit
Witcher games.

Fallout 4

the setting would be something similar to the elder scrolls.
Yup, just described Morrowind to a tee.

On your third point, however, do NOT search youtube for speedrun videos. : D
Perhaps Mount and Blade or Rune or Blade of Darkness??

Take a look at Wizardry 8, perhaps:

World is reasonably open once you reach Arnika Road (though not nearly as vast as Morrowind's, and it is separated into separate maps for each area)
You create an entire party of 6 charactes
You are weak at the start; you don't have good weapons right away, and it's a while before you get the good spells.
Stat points are only allocated at level up, but skills increase through usage. (Note that, unlike in Morrowind, you level up through experience earned by killing enemies; skill increases are separate from this, except for the level up skill allocation.)

doctorsinister: Witcher games.
Granted, I've only played a couple of hours of The Witcher 1, so I'm no expert, but given the nature of the series, I would expect character creation to be out of the question?

There is none not to mention it's way on the linear side.

Maybe 2 and 3 would be better recs. 3 for sure, if you have the NASA capability to run it full out. :P

WAIT. you can't create your own character. Same mistake I made pushing Gothic.

tinyE:
The Gothic games don't allow to create your own character.

nightcraw1er.488:
Does Divinity II meet the third criteria? I'm pretty sure that dungeon does not. I really would like to find one where you are not loaded with objects when you're just starting, but rather being limited as far as objects and gear, and slowly evolving.

doctorsinister:
I'm not fond of the Fallout vibe, I would prefer something with swords and armors

flubbucket:
The aspect of Mount and Blade of controlling numerous persons doesn't suit me TBH
and
Can you create your own character on Rune and Blade of Darkness?

dtgreene:
Thank you, I will take a look at Wizardry 8

Damn, I hope there is some game that comes very close to the features I'm looking for. I know I'm being exigent though.

It's a shit recommendation for this thread.
You can disagree with someone without completely degrading their opinion and resorting to cursing while degrading them. That first sentence of yours was enough. Why add the next? They said they weren't an expert so you could see that and correct them in a civil way right?

OT, I was going to say Two Worlds or Witcher 3 but they've already been mentioned.
Also, look at Dragon Age Origins. Its primarily linear but one almost perfect rpg.

Semi-serious suggestion: Elona+
http://elona.wikia.com/wiki/Elona_Wiki
three continents to explore
deep character creation, you want to be snail? you can be snail.
Want to be 20-handed mutant with sword in each arm? go for it.
want to be spellcaster? roll 20-handed mutant with staff in each arm XD

While you can carry a ton of gear, most of them would be below trash-tier XD
Easy to understand skills and stats.

While I agree with you that tinyE's outburst was wholly unnecessary, it was not directed at me, but at doctorsinister.
