Why did they even bother with this? I was happy just seeing things in USD..

sunshinecorp: I meant 50 dollars. It's 50 dollars if you switch currency. And it shouldn't be. It 39.99 dollars. With regional pricing, it becomes 50 for us.
avatar
Grargar: It was actually more expensive before in $ for Europeans ($55).
It wasn't released BEFORE regional pricing policy, when we would just buy it for 39.99 dollars. Simple as that. Not 50, not 55. 40 dollars. Now it's 40 euros. Regional pricing. It's not that hard to get. :)

Actually it did. It, along Witcher 3 and Age of Wonders 3, were the first games to implement regional pricing, before the site's redesign. Original Sin never had a $40 price for Europeans; only $55 and now $50+.

Maybe, I was mostly referring to the Eurozone countries.

Also eurozone countries.

Source? At any rate, barring some strange glitch, Greece specifically never had a $40 price for Original Sin, not even when it was originally released (9 July).

That. Is. Exactly. What. I. Am. Saying.

*sigh*
Why not do live conversion?

$9,99 is 7,99EUR ?
Not if I look up google, it says the conversion rate is 0.79 which would be 7.89EUR now.
From what day is your exchange rate?

My price is 39.99$ and our currency is euro. Just pointing out that its not valid for everybody in this case. Other games are different for me. Some are regionally priced and some are not.

OK, but the way you were saying it implied that the games got more expensive now.

Here is a stupid question.
Instead of increasing the price of the euro areas, why don't you decrease the price of the $?

:p

Because they DID. If GOG enforced its previous fair price policy (and I quote GOG: "because 1 dollar doesn't mean 1 euro") instead of opting to go for regional prices, either publishes would have to bend to GOG's will or games would be left out of its catalogue. We will never know what would be the case with Original Sin, but there's a chance that the publishers would have agreed to GOG's fair price policy, and we'd simply get it for 39.99 dollars instead of 39.99 euros, like we always did before. I'm only using Original Sin as an example.
