http://www.gogwiki.com/wiki/List_of_games_removed_from_GOG

I didn't see a thread for this on the first page of the general forums, so I've just posted the link again for the games that have been removed in the past from GOG.com.

This list does not contain the reasons for removal however - can whoever knows why certain games disappeared add it to the GOG.com wiki at the page posted above?

You did see the list of references at the bottom of the linked page, right? That is all the info we got, and it is linked in that page. Any other comments are speculations, though it is usually discussed in the linked threads.

Oh, I didn't notice the references for some reason - I see that some didn't have reasons mentioned too, so I guess this is as good as it gets for the time being

There's a sentence that works pretty well anywhere: Legal and licensing reasons.
Damn, I didn't even realize Re-Volt had been removed until now. That game was here for only like three months then (but I understand why they had to remove it). I really think they should inform of this sort of stuff happening on the general discussion area too, not just the game specific forum.

Yes, but it'd be nicer to have more specifics available such as "car licenses expiring" (TOCA Race Driver 3), "IP licenses expiring" (Wallace and Gromit), or "licenses changing hands" (Fallout series) listed as possible reasons to give people a better understanding of the situation rather than just pulling a games or games for "legal reasons".

I believe they are often not allowed to talk specifics of their agreements, so they can't be more open on what is coming, why some titles aren't here and why some are removed. Why, you may ask? You know the answer already: legal and licensing reasons.
At least you keep the game after they remove them.
Out of that list, I have:

XIII
Cryostasis (Steam)
Fallout
Fallout 2
Fallout Tactics
Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures
The Whispered World (Steam)

Just having those games makes me feel like I'm a part of a special club =D

Well Whispered World was change more than it was removed. I also have those plus another one so I feel like I am in a more special group
Anything removed today? The counter was at 760, now it's 759.

If they remove the games from the catalog... why dont they remove them from the users library?

Why should they? If you have bought something that can no longer be sold due to licensing reasons, should they take it from you?

Because you can't remove a sold product. When a car series is retired, i don't see the manufacturer asking for all the sold cars back. Just an example.
