Who knows, maybe the operating loss of nearly half a billion eurodollars for the last financial quarter finally prompts Ubisoft to get in talks/resuming proper business with GoG again.
Or at least makes them more susceptible in case GoG reached out and asked if they maybe would be interested in another couple million sold copies of a Ubisoft-published title.

They consolidate losses in the last fiscal year because that way, they'll pay less taxes. They don't even usually announce what games they effectively cancel (they probably never announce that BG&E2 is cancelled the fuck out of). Given how they didn't even release a quadrillonth Double Ass inscreed game last year, 15% less revenue than the year before seems absolutely fine and to be expected for Ubisoft.

They have an Avatar movie tie in, another Assassin's Creed, Skull and Bones set up for this year and will probably release another shit ton of popular brands before the fiscal year 2023 ends. So everything will be fine for Ubisoft.

Besides ... they won't sell a lot here. Nobody does, it hasn't worked like that for ages. But Ubisoft especially should be concerned with their legacy, and with preserving their games for posterity.

Rather "nudge" Ubi over the cliff into well-deserved ravine oblivion. Insufferably arrogant, smug, DRM-obsessed lame posers.

I don't hope for much from Ubisoft, but the missing Rayman and Prince of Persia titles would be nice.

The first two PoP games are available for free in the Windows Store, which is actually pretty cool (also there are fan mods available to play). But I'd really like to have a version that runs completely offline and does not get stored in a encrypted directory and more importantly - without ads popping up.

You mean the first two PoP games? Not sure if they are even available under the UBI Connect Client.
Are the Windows Store versions running under Dosbox? Or are they remakes of some sort?

It's a windows app with a menu to select game version and/or fan mod. The first one runs in DOSBox, saw the blue dialog popping out for a second. The second one is not the DOS version, but the SNES version.

I wished they would add the Xbox 360 Live Arcade version. That is probably the best looking and best playable POP version, if you are not strictly focused on the original design.

I still don't think that's going to cause Ubisoft suddenly to start caring about GOG though, unfortunately.

I try to care about Ubisoft, but each time I try to recall memorable games from their catalog, I get this big yawn followed by the urge to take a quick nap and then I completely forget about it.

I swear to you, it happens every single time.

Maybe I should peruse their catalog sometimes to revive my interest, but as a rule of thumb, I don't look unless it's drm-free. No point in getting excited about games you're not gonna buy for a very long time if ever.

Well, there's 2 sides of Ubisoft.
For one, we have the publisher for some cool old french made games in the 90s and early 2000s (anotherworld, rayman,prince,creed) with of course some still ongoing series and then there is that online-giant for multiplayer service shooters.
And since they mostly focus on the online service, they did become uninteresting, that much is true. But they do have some stuff that is cool for single players.

I'm not sure if they're necessarily an online giant of online shooters. As far as I know they only really have one hit, which is Rainbow Sex Siege. Everything else failed.

I don't particularly care for online shooters either. I just want the following games on GOG:
