BreOl72: Pentiment got released on November 15th 2022.
That was just two months ago.
How long did it take the other Obsidian games to come to GOG?
Have all those been day one releases?
Also: ALL the Obsidian games?
- Alpha Protocol
(Sega) - South Park: The Stick of Truth
(Ubisoft) - Pathfinder Adventures
(Asmodee) - Grounded
(XBox Games Studio) Ok, most games, not all. Release dates vary, because they've used many different publishers over the years. Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire came immediately. Outer Worlds came immediately after Epic one year exclusivity ended. It varies, but that's not the point. Let's look at the other Xbox-published game, that yo brought up yourself.
- Grounded was released in 27/09/2020. Still not on GOG, due to Microsoft being the publisher.
- South Park is Published by Ubisoft and there are no new Ubisoft games here post uPlay era.
- Alpha Protocol has an expired licensed song that Sega does not want to renew. It's not on sale
anywhere.
- Pathfinder Adventures is still missing, but again it's by a publisher that doesn't have many games on GOG. This isn't the only game that's missing from them.
At the end of the day, we have 1 game from Xbox Game Studios on GOG due to pre-existing obligations and 57 Ubisoft games pre-uPlay. Sure you can say that that was old Ubisoft and that the new one is worse, but then I will say that the one game from Xbox that we have on GOG doesn't count at all, since it was forced.
Whichever company is less DRM-obsessed NOWADAYS will be determined by whichever one of them releases a new game on GOG voluntarily.
Also it's not like we have to choose Ubisoft or Microsoft. We can nag both of them. I only chose Ubisoft, because I like more games from them. From Microsoft, I'd only really want Fable and Halo.
That's a good idea! I'll write them as well.
