syscrusher: Ltterbox of AREA? <----- I am confoosed.

Shmacky-McNuts: Litterbox...um well it was my attempt at a nicer version of:
Stalker AREA is a box of shit. But if it were cleaned, it would be top dog, due to mechanics.
But given how broken it is....nobody competing has anything to worry about. The stability drops faster than a $5 hookers pants.

:)
OK, the A.R.E.A. mod for Stalker Call of Pripyat. I'm going to give it a shot, having nearly finished vanilla CoP last year. And back to La Quimera, it's why GOG also needs more of what I called traditional FPS titles, to balance the many horror FPS games we have here. La Quimera would do nicely until GOG eventually gets Far Cry 3 and Far Cry 4.

Grab the more stable 0.36
You get the base version it suggests and then find .36, this has some serious problems. But it mostly runs....save often.
Also keep in mind, it looks like Chimeras cannot die unless you use armor piercing ammo only. Since NPCs dont use that, you will see chimeras clean entire maps. When you first start, all your crap gets radiation flagged, when you lack a Dosimeter(fresh loadout). Buy one. Radiation will kill silently. Vodka+Cut up armor rags = poor bandages.

If you start as a loner. Just haul ass to the left side fencing and run and jump over it. Pray you just keep running to rookie village.(Soldiers and mutants will chase you. Just dont stop, then hide. Check gear for radiation stuff. Never start with food etc as it gets irradiated and cant be used without you dying. Get tools instead. Buy stuff like food AFTER you remove radiation.

Good luck. Oh and RPG7s crash the game or something if I read it right. None of which the dev guy wants to fix lol

All noted!
Now back to $38 over at the other retailer. Most recent update was in October. Full release now expected by November of this year.

La Quimera is expected to remain in Early Access for up to 18 months from its May 2025 launch, aiming for a full release by late 2026, though this timeline can change based on player feedback and development, with the developers focused on adding content like deeper NPC integration and story-gameplay balance.
Some Steam members are posting that La Quimera should also be sold on GOG.
Looks ok. Isnt going to be yet another 100GB 8 hour game though?
Yet another "Traditional" FPS. How many have we had over the past decade?

Steam shows 55 GB, and it is an Unreal engine title, but it's still early access so maybe the studio will bring that down before going full release. Now over 100 upvotes in the Dreamlist. That's up 30 from a month or so ago.

Even if I'm usually interested of FPS games, nothing in these seems to grab my interest and I fail to recognize what makes this to stand out from the mass.
