And with this any hope to resurrect Silent Hill is gone.
That is a shame.
I am sure many people are still hoping that all of this is an elaborate April Fools hoax. Silent Hills was doomed as soon as it was hinted that Kojima will be parting ways with Konami after MGS V.

Wait... is this an April Fool's joke or not... getting damn hard to tell these days...
I'm not sure how involved he was with it, but he did a good job on the Castlevania reboot, so I would have loved to see how Silent Hill came out with his influence.

I haven't been keeping up with the news, but Kojima is still an employee of Konami, right? Only now he's under contract instead of leading production or something like that?

So maybe there is hope he's still working on Silent Hills as well and it won't be shit?

He (and his team) barely had anything to do with the Castlevania reboot. Sure, Kojima gave some of his ideas to the team of MercurySteam, but MercurySteam revelead that they only met him once for a few minutes and the final work is mostly 100% MercurySteam's (including the game engine).

I read about this a while ago in an Spanish publication. But all this was later translated into English when some developers from MercurySteam were accusing the (new) director of Lords Of Shadow 2 as an "irrational dictator". A very unfortunated incident very well known after that game was released, were many Spanish developers talked about their working relationship with the new director as "miserable". Kojima again had nothing to do with the sequel. Konami used only his name because that way the games would sell more (obviously).

Because some people at Konami corporate believe Konami owns or ever owned Kojima Productions. And don't believe that Konami is nothing more than Kojima Productions' overpaid publishing wing. Maybe April fools? Who knows; its Konami, might as well be their birthday.

Yeah, I heard Kojima mostly just influenced the aesthetics of the game, but I thought he was a little more involved than that. I just looked up an article about the director of the sequels, that's a shame, too. I've just started to play those, so I'm hoping I'm not disappointed.
I doubt this is an April joke. At least for MGSV, there are a lot of people canceling their preorders due to Kojima's departure.
I think KojiPro removed from Silent Hills is just the natural evolution of this awful situation, since KojiPro was Kojima's studio, basically.
I'm not sure now if I want a Silent Hill game at all without Kojima involved. PT is the ebst thing happened to this franchise since Silent Hill 4, they did an amazing job with that teaser. We risk another Downpour here, or worse.
