And MGSV and Resident Evil VII and The Last Guardian and pretty much all stuff developed by Platinum Games and Atlus... there really is lots of rather recent great Japanese games, some of which were also mainstream successes in the west while others are niche by western standards but still have their following there.

I don't want to go off on a tangent here, but a lot of names come to mind, like Blizzard and EA ,and well all laugh, but the Resident Evil games not so much. Is the entire series under one owner/dev? Is it a company known for crap like the aforementioned EA/Blizzard or is there hope for those games here?

Speaking of great recent games by Japanese devs, there's also Nioh, or the upcoming Ni no Kuni 2, in addition to the games and dev teams others already mentioned.

posting review scores do not mean anything for me. the same people voted breath of the wild as the best game. that game is terrible, which is just mgsv with swords that break and fairies.

Thanks for confirming that your opinion regarding the quality of games is irrelevant.
