How come this thread died? It was useful.

A thread like this lives and dies based on who uses it. I used to use it when I was trading, got burned once and learned my lesson. But if no one is reporting being scammed this place falls flat.

I don't usually do many trades (cause I mostly have all the bundle stuff ppl have to trade with) but I do like to see ppl get informed so they don't get scammed so regardless when there's a new post I check it.
Shame that it has died. It says over a year since the last post.

Some reasons:

- trades and giveaways were more frequent back then and many people weren't aware of scammers.
- Gog never did anything to moderate or protect the forum in the past.
- it was way too easy to create alts (some even used bots), so it was an endless hopeless battle.
- we had no 100% sure way to verify claims, without Gog helping. Even reports could be fake\forged in theory.
- trolls plus misinformed or disagreeing people started criticizing or attacking the OP and the other contributors.

So, the thing eventually died.

Pretty much this and it's also why I've stepped away from the forums. I got heavily attacked trying to point out the scammers and they just bombarded me with negative rep to the point where I now am in the negative making me look bad.

Which is kinda sad because I'm sure I'm not the only one who decided to step away. The forums used to be full of life and a joy to chat in. Still kinda are, but it is nowhere near the same.

Well.. not exactly a scammer I guess but not sure where else to post it...

The new guy JocktheLock1 who showed up in the trading thread is going around PMing ppl to send him games it looks like.

I just blocked him for pming me to try & get Stardew Valley off me (which I don't even have...)
