Greetings, all!

KotC2 has a Kickstarter! As of this writing (Feb 12, 2019) it isn't yet live, but it'll be soon enough!

The game's author kindly explained what Knights of the Chalice 2 is(n't).

The Knights of the Chalice series is a turn-based adaptation of the Open Gaming License (OGL) rules for D&D 3.5. The first KotC stuck fairly close the the rules as written, but KotC2 seems more interested in adapting and expanding them for the sake of a better game.

I've already offered the author extensive feedback regarding many aspects of the game, some of which is slated to be in the final release.

As an aside, Knights of the Chalice is soon scheduled to arrive on Steam, GOG, and possibly other PC gaming platforms!

Enjoy!

Extremely cool that Knights of the Chalice 2 is alive.

Looks nice. This might be a game worth backing, when it goes live.
Knights of the Chalice is soon scheduled to arrive on GOG? How will the brave knights fare against The Curator? Will the brave knights best The Curator's trials to open the Gates of Niche, or will they turn back like so many other heroes and fools, never to reach the land of GOG. Rumor has it that the The Curator, once pure in its purpose, has been corrupted, and plague and ruin, even now, sours the land of GOG. It is said that the Gates of Niche, like a tavern whore, spread wide and easy for fail and mundane things, but for the pure and awesome things in the world, the gates have become stubborn and heavy.

I'll have to give the first one a go before the second one comes out. I've been wanting to try it.

I remember this one from a rpgcodex review. Has it never been released on steam on itch.io? It seams that it can only be purchased from the developer's site.

Last time I checked the developer was a bit of a weirdo and refused to put it on any platform except his own site. It seems that he's finally come to his senses.

I remember when Jeff Vogel from Spiderweb Software, used to do than. Then he tried his hand at other platforms, and he must have discovered how much more he can make by offering the games on sales and in bundles.

Yep, Vogel discovered that theres much more to be made by Steam sales than by gauging hardcore RPG fanbase.

EDIT: I've also read that the guy is a libertarian and the reason he doesn't like game platforms is because they take a 25% cut and that's a "tax".

Well, not liking his profit to be cut off isn't a crime, no?
I don't do Kickstarter, but I wish the project good luck and hope it gets funded and released here eventually. Not sure what to think of the look, I actually preferred the pixel art style of the first game, but I'm intrigued by the inclusion of a toolset to create your own adventures with.

The first game was pretty awesome, until it started locking you into dungeons of unknown size with no resting opportunities in sight, which turned it into a stressful and frustrating experience for me and made me give up on it eventually. Hopefully the second game won't repeat this design decision.

When can we expect Knights of the Chalice to appear here on GOG and Steam, etc?

Well you made me look around the kickstarter page, and I discovered this little comment from the developer:
"It's not live yet because I'd like to get KotC 1 on Steam/GOG first. Thank you for your patience."
The original KotC is available on steam... On a side note I had made a separate thread because I had missed this one on here.

The Kickstarter for KotC 2 well under way now, the main goal has been reached and so has the first stretch goal.

The second stretch goal New Companion (Ysss the gelatinous cube) and new magic items is as good as reached (about 97% completed).. So things are going well, there's still 33 more days to ago :).
