Well, may racists and misogonists not buy specific things because of their restricted world view. Is their problem, if they miss great experiences.

I'm really looking forward to the game, regardless of whether there are things in it that are in fact historically correct but that certain people don't want to see for ideological reasons.
I tried to like and get-into the first one, but it just made me want to replay Skyrim, Oblivion and Morrowind. The lack of Fantasy was an issue for me. It's always nice to see an Indie studio take on the AAA though, so I wish them luck.

I think the anti-woke thing has gone over the top, not every game with a coloured or gay character is woke, that line of thinking is absurd and deeply unfair to the games and developers. The idea of games getting boycotted because of rumours and unfounded or even imagined associations is not good for the industry, this little hobby of ours.

Wouldn't exactly call them an indie studio anymore after they fell under Embracer's umbrella following KCD 1's success :P

But the first game definitely struck gold.

AdastAdamov: Huh, pretty sure STALKER 2 didn't have any LGBTQ+ content.

VausG: Likely referring to the fellow (a merchant, I think?) with a darker skin complexion that was also briefly shown in one of the pre-release trailers.
Rather referring that it's an Ukrainian game and so it's "biolab DEI NATO WEF woke" game for that delusional kind.
(Despite the fact that Ukraine is the one fighting communists and fighting those who pushes DEI and migrants to EU and USA).

Shalashaska188: Has current day politics, won't buy therefore
Is EVERYTHING you Reich-wingers do aimed at making your own lives (and of those around you) miserable? Holy shit. I hope you manage to find joy in something one day, friend.
Looking forward to playing this game.

Not sure where this opposition to KDC2 is coming from, but I find it really weird particularly considering how the same folks cheered at the first Kingdom Come release, which was a whole lot of things, but certainly not apolitical. From what I've seen about Kingdom Come 2, it could be much better than the first part – certainly much less awkward and on the nose concerning its cultural commentary. And isn't that exactly what these people are supposedly after? Less of the preachy revisionist history lessons by angry amateurs, more of the mindless 'politically incorrect' entertainment with a Chaucerian bawdy vibe?

From what I could gather:

1. The mere presence of a muslim from Mali, despite the game director's past statements of "no black people in medieval Bohemia, period."
Musa (he's called) having been brought to Bohemia (as a prisoner of war I believe) would make it a plausible and authentic exemption to the rule, but the consensus thinks different apparently.
There also seems to be some lecturing via his dialogue where he claims that women are treated better in Mali, which might have been true in some aspects but certainly not in others.

2. The mere option of a gay relationship between Henry and another, as of yet unknown NPC (rumoured to be Hans) and the corresponding "Henry swings both ways now" retcon.
Which (also imho) is a stupid and completely unnecessary retcon, and definitely comes across as a compromising DEI concession more than anything else. Especially when it turns out in Kingdom Come Deliverance 3, that Henry was never bisexual after all, because the carried over "canon Henry" is likely going to be straight Henry.

3. "Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is not a Christian game" is the latest I believe.

Story Recap

VausG: From what I could gather:
There was a rumor going around in January that the game was banned in Saudi Arabia for having (and in fact showing) homosexual intercourse. The false info was posted by an obvious anti-LGBTQ ideologue ("Yorch Torch Games") on twitter and circle jerked / click and rage baited so damn much around social media that the Warhorse CEO had to make an official statement saying it's all bullshit.

For the clientele that stylized the first game as the ultimate anti establishment, that official denial is difficult to believe of course. Any prolonged display of hyper-masculinity will invariably start to look as supergay as shirtless Putin riding a horse. So this is a game about two men riding around the countryside, and of course there are scenes where they're both in the nude. Probably less than historically accurate, but still. More than enough to get the woke stamp from the insipid authorities on the matter.

I wasn't a fan of the Warhorse CEO back in the day, but he does have my sympathies here. One gay sex option in an 80 hour game, one black character who of course vastly euphemizes his own culture, and suddenly he is some woke bloke with pink hair who writes like Chuck Tingle. To be fair, these are two of the very first rules of conservative censorship that were imposed on creatives in the game industry: no gays, no blacks. Vávra could have known better. Of course, in the meantime, a thousand more things have been branded as wrong, woke and perverse, some of those in secret. Good for Vávra that he gave a shit.

The revolution begins to eat its children.

Kingdom Come 1 takes jabs at Christianity throughout the story, not sure why people would think it is supposed to uphold Christian values or whatever. It didn't feel like a game that was pushing religion one way or another.

In any case, unless a game claims to be historically accurate then the more freedom the better. As much as I like Cyberpunk, I felt more immersed in KCD. Gay characters or not, KCD is the better game, and KCD2 will also be the better game if it maintains its original formula and just adds more on top of it.

Edited to remove spoilers.

The only revolution here in the US are the liberals crying that everything is about race and gender.

Daniel "Burzum" Vávra implementing a gay sex option and writing a black character into his game... American right wingers literally inventing the smack they can talk about the game ... think about the implications, man. No, seriously, see where this is going, the path is lit (pun intended). Politically, we're all fucked in one way or another. Culturally, if you think the last ten years were 'woke', you ain't seen nothing yet. The counter culture will roll over you like a pink dump truck driven by freely cursing gay frogs with diverse pronouns while McCarthyists bicker about whether any narrative media technically still conforms to their new Comics Code Authority.
