It’s time to brew coffee and stretch your fingers – after a few years of absence, the Insomnia Promo event is back on GOG! With it arrive the best deals and the exciting anticipation that will drive away your sleep, while also giving loads of fun!

This Summer Sale on GOG is already full of deep discounts, yet we saved the most delicious treats, especially for the Insomnia Promo. How does it work? Starting now, once every 6 hours a new great game will appear here, bearing an insanely deep discount. Right now, you can already see the first title – the best-selling strategy game Frostpunk 85% off!

What’s the catch? Every game appearing during the event will only have 6 hours to catch your attention. After the time runs out, a new game will appear, while the former one will get back on our Summer Sale with the initial, lower discount. The other factor you have to be aware of is the limited stock of Insomnia deals!

So, be on the lookout, because cool titles like Leisure Suit Larry - Wet Dreams Don't Dry and Solasta: Crown of the Magister Supporter Edition are bound to appear at the Insomnia Promo event at some time (when? We’ll just have to wait and see ;)). So, take that caffeine shot and be on the lookout for great discounted games!

ciemnogrodzianin: Not exactly. Currently on Steam I have install button for every single game.
Not if you have a Mac you don't.

mrkgnao: The first game of the rewind, so a total of 49 unique items, it seems.
Indeed; if it gets confirmed in 6 hrs, I'll separate the rewind offers from the "original" runs in my lists.

... and not gonna lie, it would be somewhat amusing if only the games that sold out during their runs appeared in the rewind (even though it would be a very short one).
now im kinda curious, if they start bringing only 4 games back for the rewind and these are on the same times or if they start doing a "all games and only like 1-2 hours till the next one" kinda thing.

They said the rewind is 24 hours, so I would guess at least 4 games, perhaps as many as 12.

Oh, ok, I understand. Thank you for the explanation.
I'm using Linux version of Steam, indeed.
30 minutes a game to repeat them all (fits like a glove in fact, Monster Train should be excluded because discount remained for a standard sale). Then you'll have real insomnia if you want buy something.

More realistically I could see like 4 deals going simultaneously.
low rated
I thought "rewind" means they put all the Insomnia games on sale simultaneously for the rest of the Summer Sales' duration.

ciemnogrodzianin: And on the other side are also people like me, who rejects Galaxy because it's just unnecessary layer. I simply prefer to get an installer of game I want to play and use it. No reason to keep any third party apps in my system tray and RAM. I just want a game and nothing else.

The other group are users of Mac and Linux. As far as I know Galaxy is Windows-only. So all resources put in Galaxy are simply wasted from that part of userbase. And Galaxy looks even dangerous for them, if GOG ever consider making some features available for Galaxy users only (which means unavailable for alternative OSes' users).
To be fair, while I am a Linux user (and, thus, could be seeking a replacement for all of Galaxy's functionality), I don't plan to leave my game organizer running in the background... I'll just optimize for fast enough startup. ("enough" because I can't call PyQt fast-starting by my own standards. I could always get faster by leaving it running in a tray icon and optimizing to leave as much of my 32GiB of RAM as possible to Firefox, Chromium, and VirtualBox bloat.)

I just have such a massive collection of games, whether you count installed or just owned, that I want something that makes it easier to get a view on what satisfies "I feel like X" as a cross-section of things like my GOG library, my Humble Bundle library, the PSX CDs I've dumped, the Wine games in my PlayOnLinux list, the N64/GBA/SNES/Super Famicom/etc. carts I've dumped with my Retrode2, my CD/DVD-sourced ScummVM resources, etc.

(As far as "optimizing for fast startup" goes, the plan includes things like having all state cached so that it'll return to what things looked like on last shutdown as quickly as possible and then identify and update stale things in the background. No login dialogs or splash screens or progress bars. Any delay between typing the command/double-clicking the icon and seeing the window must be the "waiting for Python/Qt to initialize" delay that would also be present before a splash screen or progress dialog.)

Yes!, because whenever anything is rewound, everyhthing can be seen, heard or experienced all at once. Oh wait, no it can't...

Anyway, judging by the way the main page is/was chugging with the current sale and the insomnia deals, I doubt things will be very plesant with 49 insomnia deals all going at once, and all the traffic it will likely generate...
Insomnia Rewind:
The Keaning shows up for the next two days and does not shift a SINGLE copy...

Welcome to the pain of the keaning :)

LifeLover: When all game titles that was in insomnia chellenge will be avaliable again?
The insomnia rewind is set to begin in 45 minutes. It is not known which games will be available again and which will not. All we know for now it that the first one will be Hitman: Blood Money.
Do we know if the games in the rewind will have the same amount discounted?
