It’s time to brew coffee and stretch your fingers – after a few years of absence, the Insomnia Promo event is back on GOG! With it arrive the best deals and the exciting anticipation that will drive away your sleep, while also giving loads of fun!

This Summer Sale on GOG is already full of deep discounts, yet we saved the most delicious treats, especially for the Insomnia Promo. How does it work? Starting now, once every 6 hours a new great game will appear here, bearing an insanely deep discount. Right now, you can already see the first title – the best-selling strategy game Frostpunk 85% off!

What’s the catch? Every game appearing during the event will only have 6 hours to catch your attention. After the time runs out, a new game will appear, while the former one will get back on our Summer Sale with the initial, lower discount. The other factor you have to be aware of is the limited stock of Insomnia deals!

So, be on the lookout, because cool titles like Leisure Suit Larry - Wet Dreams Don't Dry and Solasta: Crown of the Magister Supporter Edition are bound to appear at the Insomnia Promo event at some time (when? We’ll just have to wait and see ;)). So, take that caffeine shot and be on the lookout for great discounted games!
Thank you for the list. You really did have insomnia Helpo1. Sadly the games I keep hoping for to hit a really lose price are not listed. There are a few of interest but not nearly as much as Divinity Original Sin Enhanced Edition. I have the DOS II Definitive Edition and I though I had the first one, but if I did, I can't find it among any of the tons of gaming clients or in my GOG software listing, I swore I had it. So I was hoping it might hit $9.99 in the insomnia sale.

Sort of funny to see a Star Trek game on this list that I was a beta tester then Q&A and canon checker. Nor I don't work for them and No I was not paid, other than getting the game for free, those were the days, until for some reason they sort of did away with the program I was in. I tested about 3 different games from the Star Trek Universe, 2 of the Total War titles and 1 other. Perhaps I should offer my autograph for sale on ebay in the manual. Of course I am kidding, as there were many testers but the only drawback to beta testing, when the final version came out I had played the game for so long including down to that last version before it went into its last testing with Activision and then I got this nice box in the mail with a game in it.

Sorry off topic, no I am not stealing the topic, just thought about seeing a title I know.

Many of gog games I actually own the original dos/win 3.1/95/98/ME/Vista/7/8/10 game itself with it maybe needing a new jewel case during my time owning it but I have done all I can to keep modifying thanks to the community to keep these games working and then having to make that choice of being lazy and letting GOG fix things or doing that one or two things needed to get the title that worked.

The first game, Frost Punk, I already own on Steam. Great great game and for just $5.99 for the base game, a steal for anyone who doesn't have it. Van helsing also on Steam. All the hitman titles before the re-birth of the franchise. Most of the wargames from the original publisher. Many of games like Disciples 2 Gold, the version I have work with a little tummy tuck here and nose job there.

I wish that games on Gog could work vice versa with the DRM brothers. Just that if base came from other than gog then you are stuck with DRM or if you bought the base game here on GOG then you could buy the expansions/dlc and they naturally would become non-drm.

Unreal tournament, I still play mostly offline against the bots who still can every once in a while fool me.

Startopia, given to me by a friend at the company along with 3 other titles, I went to college with him. He actually wasn't a gamer himself, not even console.

American Conquest, I never did figure out how to get anything done in that game, or any of its predecessors or titles after, skipped #3.

Tropico 6, I can still remember when the first title in the series came out with much fanfare, especially who had developed it. I got the second one but I couldn't figure out just how to be a dictator and not end up, well I am sure you know.

Field of Glory titles, I always had a love-hate relation with them. Some were good some bleh.

Dungeon 3, I don't have but I haven't tried the first 2 to see if I like it. I remember a game much like it that came out before in the name of Dungeon Keeper.

Oh boy I remember all the comments when Leisure Suit Larry title first came out but then wasn't into anime being sexed up and the arrival on these shores of Hentai titles. I was a big fan of Macross and the series, just glad Harmony Gold finally gave in from blocking those titles. There was at least one "hentai":moment but I just remembered to fast forward past, I guess growing up first on American cartoons made it hard to accept nudity in anime. Robotech the Movie aka Megazone 23 another great title but I could see where the fans of both Macross and Robotech just couldn't accept the movie.

Now if Kate Beckinsale was in those Vampire titles, then I would most certainly be kept entertained as a death dealer (surprised there hasn't been any games based on that movie series, seems like it would be a slam dunk) but of course maybe one of the actors or actresses needed to do voice overs didn't want to.

Simulations from running a farm to a pizza restaurant, how they continue to sell is a surprise.

Well at least they still have flash deals, something another company forgot about and leaves you Steamed because what is the price on day 1 of their summer sale is the same price through out the sale so no hope of seeing a title maybe show up less in a flash deal. People complained about not being there for each flash offer, I guess the right people who could cause that company to stop all flash deals and just go with a typical sale, but with all these mini games and having to collect trading cards and level it up. I always ended up having to buy 2-3 trading cards, I just thought it wasn't good relations with me charging 2 cents of maybe a 5 cent sale, come on talk about nickle and diming, especially when they went to just 1 card a day and at near the end of the sale I would have 5 of one card. They took 2 cents and so I couldn't use the cards to sell and get what I needed without having to put out some coin, I know minor but would have been nice.

Then of course the cheating and scamming that really made trading and selling an absolute mess. Oh well. Guess I will just continue to look at GOG for the sales.

schwartzag: What are the reasons that people keep mentioning that they don't want to play the games using Galaxy? I don't really know much about Galaxy and how it works or what the problems are with it.
I have a strict "must be installable and playable off DVD+Rs on an airgapped LAN running Linux and, if necessary/appropriate, an open-source emulator/compatibility layer like DOSBox or Wine" policy to ensure what I pay for has the maximum chance of continuing to work decades down the line.

...and I'm working on my own launcher/organizer that unifies everything regardless of how it was installed/where it came from and gives me the source access I need to customize said launcher to what I prefer. (Plus, it's written using PyQt for the frontend and Rust for the backend so as much of the active code as possible is written in something snappy like C++ or Rust, not HTML+CSS+JS gunk.)

And on the other side are also people like me, who rejects Galaxy because it's just unnecessary layer. I simply prefer to get an installer of game I want to play and use it. No reason to keep any third party apps in my system tray and RAM. I just want a game and nothing else.

The other group are users of Mac and Linux. As far as I know Galaxy is Windows-only. So all resources put in Galaxy are simply wasted from that part of userbase. And Galaxy looks even dangerous for them, if GOG ever consider making some features available for Galaxy users only (which means unavailable for alternative OSes' users).

GOG Galaxy is also available for Mac.

Really? What about games without Mac support?
They just cannot be installed?

Yes, just like Steam; not exactly hard to understand.
It's back on then, huh?

Not exactly. Currently on Steam I have install button for every single game. I'm often not even sure if I actually play native version or a proton wrapper, everything is behind the scenes.

Post Mortem? But the rewind is also in 6 hours.

Didn't manage to catch the total number of copies sold for Corpse Party; if anyone did, feel free to fill it in.
