It’s time to brew coffee and stretch your fingers – after a few years of absence, the Insomnia Promo event is back on GOG! With it arrive the best deals and the exciting anticipation that will drive away your sleep, while also giving loads of fun!

This Summer Sale on GOG is already full of deep discounts, yet we saved the most delicious treats, especially for the Insomnia Promo. How does it work? Starting now, once every 6 hours a new great game will appear here, bearing an insanely deep discount. Right now, you can already see the first title – the best-selling strategy game Frostpunk 85% off!

What’s the catch? Every game appearing during the event will only have 6 hours to catch your attention. After the time runs out, a new game will appear, while the former one will get back on our Summer Sale with the initial, lower discount. The other factor you have to be aware of is the limited stock of Insomnia deals!

So, be on the lookout, because cool titles like Leisure Suit Larry - Wet Dreams Don't Dry and Solasta: Crown of the Magister Supporter Edition are bound to appear at the Insomnia Promo event at some time (when? We’ll just have to wait and see ;)). So, take that caffeine shot and be on the lookout for great discounted games!
I've actually had Death Trash on my personal wishlist for quite some time as well, seen a few Twitch streams of it and it looked pretty decent. But as a still in-dev game, the discount would probably have to be quite steep to really convince me.

Cavalary: I'm sure the server can determine which request came first down to even fractions of a milisecond if need be. Admittedly, that's the time when the request was processed, not when it was sent, since you have ping time and the server load to deal with.

J Lo: I see, thanks!
Also, that number might not be a hard limit, so they might actually allow some margin that ends up accepting both purchases.
I loved the Insomnia Sales in the past because you always want to know what comes next, and games draw your attention, that you would otherwise have overlooked...
...but the coolest thing about the Insomnia Sales in the past were the freebies you could catch if you clicked fast enough, I spent whole nights awake because of that even if there was school the next day and it was fun to read in the comment section about who caught which freebie...I got Theme Hospital and Two Worlds II Velvet edition through that, I'm still telling friends storys of my Insomnia freebies and how I enjoyed trying them out....
But there won't be any free games to catch this time, right? :(

I think that, up until now, most of these sales aren’t steep enough. In my opinion sales such as these (flash, or now insomnia) should be at least 80% off and I have bought games in such flash deals. With +80% off you draw someone’s attention, making him/her realize that it is a unique opportunity.

Yes! Finally, something I'm more interested in.

:D

I was hoping for Blood to show up on this Insomnia Promo thingy since it hasn't gotten any discounts yet, and also because it's still sitting there in me wishlist. -.-
Hopefully it'll get a proper discount this time around.

gog2002x: P.S. Though if there's a really hot price on a really hot game that I don't own, I may get screwed if the number of copies is very limited at 10:45 am and pm marks...hmm)
.
I admit we run that risk, but... well, in all previous Insomnia sales all the games returned (twice if I'm not mistaken).
If this sale retained that structure at least you will have a second and possibly a third chance. And then you'd be better prepared already knowing how much the discount is for and how hot the game was selling in its first run. Gog, too, can and certainly DID use this information, tweaking quantities to shorten amounts of games that were slow sellers (it was a necessity since there was no end timer) and if the game is a fast seller they probably can put more copies too.

And call it a hunch but I don't think Gog is willing to do that combination. It is crazy (in a good sense) and it is exactly in the spirit of our best Insomnia sales, but they apparently tried to tone this sale down into a half-breed of a regular sale, probably not to shoo away those who didn't like past Insomnias. The high quantities and 6-hour windows that are pretty far from a flash-deal indicate to me that we won't see much of the craze that previous Insomnias were known for. I'd say you don't have much to fear.

I sincerely hope GOG won't miss this opportunity to make a joke, even if it should appear for just an hour or so, or maybe with a very limited amount, like 10 copies, for $0.01 or something. Just reference it in some way, pretty please!

Yeah, same for me... I'll be eagerly waiting for it to show up!

No, I don't think so, not in the Insomnia Sale per se, but there are two more giveaways already scheduled in addition to what we already got.

I was thinking the same thing... really, it MUST happen, some way or another.

All good points and it's not like life or death to miss these flash deals anyway. Just a quick "darn it!" and move on. =P

Thank you for doing this!

Regarding the upcoming offer - for Blood the highest discount so far was 66% (available a few times this year). I guess we can expect 75% at max. For me it's the first game I'm really interested from all these offers.

I agree that GOG kind of misses out an opportunity to make this format more fun and attractive. You can make much more with this kind of offers and easily make people really waiting for them.

You are 100% right. I still remember that night where I got Nox for free (it was amazing after hearing that much about the game that night) and after getting hogs of war (the only game that didn't work LOL).
And I got like 5 games from other gog user that night, all of them really cool. And I paid for Amnesia and I think Dreamfall Chapter 1 that night.
There was another Insomnia after that and before this one without freebies where I giveaway some games back to the community...

If the next game really is Blood maybe we can go back for a minute to that time, but only with a good special discount... I cannot believe there are 20% discount on an Insomnia sale...

Death Trash at 20% off is the highest discount ever on any site. The lowest price to date, including here, has been $17.99. This actually makes it a decent discount. I mean, how often do games still in dev. get discounted, especially like this? This one has been before. Some not at all. While I may not jump at this game since it is not quite clicking with me though am tempted, look at the reviews for it. It has a demo too. Talk about an easy try before you buy situation. Co-op too? All computer platforms? My biggest "huh" is that an in dev. game is being offered at all really for Insomnia. Kinda cool though to draw attention to it especially from a new dev. AND from reviews sounds like a single person (a la Banished). Interesting. Just a rambling $0.02.
