It’s time to brew coffee and stretch your fingers – after a few years of absence, the Insomnia Promo event is back on GOG! With it arrive the best deals and the exciting anticipation that will drive away your sleep, while also giving loads of fun!

This Summer Sale on GOG is already full of deep discounts, yet we saved the most delicious treats, especially for the Insomnia Promo. How does it work? Starting now, once every 6 hours a new great game will appear here, bearing an insanely deep discount. Right now, you can already see the first title – the best-selling strategy game Frostpunk 85% off!

What’s the catch? Every game appearing during the event will only have 6 hours to catch your attention. After the time runs out, a new game will appear, while the former one will get back on our Summer Sale with the initial, lower discount. The other factor you have to be aware of is the limited stock of Insomnia deals!

So, be on the lookout, because cool titles like Leisure Suit Larry - Wet Dreams Don't Dry and Solasta: Crown of the Magister Supporter Edition are bound to appear at the Insomnia Promo event at some time (when? We’ll just have to wait and see ;)). So, take that caffeine shot and be on the lookout for great discounted games!

J Lo: I got a question about this. I was about to make a separate thread, but it's probably best I post it here. The store page says there are only X number of copies available. For example, the Lego Batman sale has 8,000 copies. What would happen if there is only one copy left, but more than one person buys it at the same time?

Cavalary: I'm sure the server can determine which request came first down to even fractions of a milisecond if need be. Admittedly, that's the time when the request was processed, not when it was sent, since you have ping time and the server load to deal with.
I see, thanks!
Wait...what year is it? Hello to all the friendly friends old and new!

Alas, don’t think I’ll be as present for this one as the sales of old, but I’m keane to see what deals they’ll throw our way. Much love and respect to those of you brave/crazy enough to track them all!

Ancient-Red-Dragon: Why not post the method you use to predict the next game, so that anyone else who wants to do it can do so too?

helpo1: I might even actually try to whip up a Python script or something for it once I have a bit of free time (no promises tho).
Well, as (not) promised, a simple Python script to basically print out an Insomnia offers post similar to my previous ones.

Definitely far from perfect, as I wrote it pretty much from scratch in this past hour and I'm by no means a Python expert, but it should be functional enough. I didn't mess with stuff like regional pricing etc. a whole lot due to very little documentation on GOG's store / listings / Insomnia (heh) APIs, so e. g. past offers are in my regional prices & EUR (as I'm not sure how to get the "Insomnia API" to accept locales / regional info), but upcoming guesses' base prices are in US / USD prices.

Usage: just clone the repo and run main.py (provided you've got a working Python3 interpreter and some necessary libs installed).
Ah, the ghost of Christmas past, only the ghostliness is actually an adornment not unlike what you might see from a Scooby Doo villain.
I wonder: two Insomnia deals running at once - is that not in the "spirit" of this type of sale, or would people be fine with this?

How are people feeling about the timespans - too long or fine? Shorter timespans but the deals come back around if there are copies left?

Thanks for doing that. When I made the request, I had no idea it would involve you doing work or anything like that. Rather, I thought it would just be a matter of you typing out a few simple text instructions inside of a post that would only have taken you a minute or two to do at most.

That's very nice of you to do all that work, so thanks a lot. We appreciate that.

FYI, it looks like the countdown timer is buggy if you leave the page up. The countdown seems to go more slowly than 1 second / second.

My hunch is you're just decrementing a counter in a setTimeout / setInterval call and those get throttled when a tab is in the background. You probably want to do math with now and end time rather than a simple decrement
Can't wait for Jack Keane 2!
Hmm . I wonder how many minutes we need to redeem 10000 copies of Skyrim ?

5 or 10 ?

=))))
Batman game - All copies sold out error message, for the 2nd time!
Also occured earlier and neither is actually true :)

So, what was the next game? I see a new 6 hour timer and no new entry...

Ah it's the worthless entry, Imma can sleep now :)

Ok now I know how to predict the next game (the first time I didn't see there was an API to get more tags and I didn't know there will be game without discount on this sale).
After Founder's Fortune

Thanks! Seems Founders' Fortune is not beeing a great success, only about 150 copies sold in two hours. But Death Trash looks great, i didn´t know about that, i will take a look!
