It’s time to brew coffee and stretch your fingers – after a few years of absence, the Insomnia Promo event is back on GOG! With it arrive the best deals and the exciting anticipation that will drive away your sleep, while also giving loads of fun!

This Summer Sale on GOG is already full of deep discounts, yet we saved the most delicious treats, especially for the Insomnia Promo. How does it work? Starting now, once every 6 hours a new great game will appear here, bearing an insanely deep discount. Right now, you can already see the first title – the best-selling strategy game Frostpunk 85% off!

What’s the catch? Every game appearing during the event will only have 6 hours to catch your attention. After the time runs out, a new game will appear, while the former one will get back on our Summer Sale with the initial, lower discount. The other factor you have to be aware of is the limited stock of Insomnia deals!

So, be on the lookout, because cool titles like Leisure Suit Larry - Wet Dreams Don't Dry and Solasta: Crown of the Magister Supporter Edition are bound to appear at the Insomnia Promo event at some time (when? We’ll just have to wait and see ;)). So, take that caffeine shot and be on the lookout for great discounted games!

arrua: Yes. And that´s one of the reasons why it is so important to have a forum thread with the list of those games (lately, I haven´t been able to find the thread about the broken installers) and to constantly remind GOG about the need to fix the offline installers of some games.
avatar
mrkgnao: Exactly. Which returns to schwartzag's original question ("is it even safe to continue to invest in buying games from GOG") and my answer ("It's a decision that everyone needs to make for his or her self"). Some people seem to think yes, some no.
The amount of broken installers are a very low percentage out of the total games available. So, as of now, the answer is: yes. As for the future, time will tell.

And Blood Money is indeed the last one, it seems.

Thank you very much for maintaining the list. Knowing what was coming up next made this a lot more manageable, and you often spared me having to dig into the browser developer tools.
final insomnia deal? :D
Not the best insomnia sale but still better than any other promo in the last few years.
Next time keep the next game a secret, lower the timeframe (just rewind if you have to), lower the quantities, make it faster in general, do not keep us from buying gifts, do not put regional price for gifts, make the giveaway games a surprise inside the insomnia...
yes you need to copy from the past, but the timer is a good idea that you can keep.
Thanks very much for all the tracking and accounting work you did for this sale, helpo1.
That work was brilliant.

why did they restrict buying gift keys of stuff you already have in your library is something I can't understand lol :D

Me too... I was only able to make one giveaway with Unreal Tournament 2004 since I didn't own it (and it was one of the few without regional price bullshit on gift... it was not like that before, not sure why gog think that's a good idea at all, I didn't bought two copies of Blood without the Insomnia price since it was over for that reason).
They lost a lot of money with those rules.

Just woke up, and pleased to see that Hitman: Blood Money is the last of the Insomnia Rewind discounts - the one game out of the initial Insomnia 2022 Promo that I had missed out on earlier (due to my being asleep), AND the only one that had completely sold out of stock unlike most/all(?) of the other games that never really sold out of their stock quantities.

... and so, I just bought my copy of Hitman: Blood Money :)

@helpo1 - thank you for your time and effort into maintaining and updating the Insomnia Promo list of games as time went by, even with the unexpected "hiccups" that cropped up that made things difficult to compile accurate 'number of copies sold for game X' data points into the list.

Also, thanks to everyone who assisted helpo1 by providing their snapshots/recordings of 'number of copies sold' values for many of the Insomnia discounted games, particularly when helpo1 was offline/asleep

Wait, did the last couple of promotionals run faster than 1 hour time slots?

I missed Hitman Blood Money a SECOND time because of this?

... and that's it, thank you for your attention. :)

To those thanking/praising me for compiling and maintaining the list - thank you, the community. I probably would've stopped updating it after a day or two (like I originally said) if not for other community members who started adding their own observations and keeping it up to date while I was away - especially valkord with more than a dozen updates of his own, but also many others: argamasa, bartica1, ChainsawGenie, ciemnogrodzianin, Dmayak, frosty_shake, gwaigh, JeniSkunk, joveian, SCPM, Waganari, W3irdN3rd (and possibly more I may have missed - if so, I apologize). Not to mention people like JackknifeJohnson and lupineshadow, whose observations actually made the predictions and tracking possible / viable in the very first place, both for the original deals and the clustergog that Rewind temporarily became after The PC Building Simulator Incident. And the same also goes for mrkgnao and his own list and statistics... brought back memories of the good old times. :)

Even though I didn't actually end up buying anything myself in this sale, it was nice to come back for two weeks (after pretty much years of complete forum inactivity) and see the community work together for a cause (even one so seemingly small and unimportant as Insomnia deal tracking) again.

BIG THANKS again for keeping us all up-to-date. That certainly helped after midnight for me, where I set an alarm and just checked in 2 hourly. I wasn't going to bother, but I still have a lot of game files I am relocating, so I just loaded up the next batch each time I was briefly awake. Just as well too, as it wouldn't have been worth staying up the extra six or so hours, as the last three games I wanted never made an appearance in the REWIND.

P.S. Not forgetting the excellent help you got from others and to us while you were away ... BIG THANKS to them too.
