It’s time to brew coffee and stretch your fingers – after a few years of absence, the Insomnia Promo event is back on GOG! With it arrive the best deals and the exciting anticipation that will drive away your sleep, while also giving loads of fun!

This Summer Sale on GOG is already full of deep discounts, yet we saved the most delicious treats, especially for the Insomnia Promo. How does it work? Starting now, once every 6 hours a new great game will appear here, bearing an insanely deep discount. Right now, you can already see the first title – the best-selling strategy game Frostpunk 85% off!

What’s the catch? Every game appearing during the event will only have 6 hours to catch your attention. After the time runs out, a new game will appear, while the former one will get back on our Summer Sale with the initial, lower discount. The other factor you have to be aware of is the limited stock of Insomnia deals!

So, be on the lookout, because cool titles like Leisure Suit Larry - Wet Dreams Don't Dry and Solasta: Crown of the Magister Supporter Edition are bound to appear at the Insomnia Promo event at some time (when? We’ll just have to wait and see ;)). So, take that caffeine shot and be on the lookout for great discounted games!

Francisco_d'Anconia: 20%....?
Agreed.

Insignificant discounts like 20% or 50% diminish the value of the concept of "Insomnia" deals.

If GOG keeps putting insignificant discounts like that on Insomnia, then pretty soon no one is going to care about nor buy from Insomnia deals any more, and they are not going to have their intended effect of temporarily boosting sales for the games that are featured under that concept.

If the discount isn't at least 80%, then it shouldn't be featured in any Insomnia deal, period.

DoomSooth: Who's therrre?
Well, most definitely not Nox™ (unfortunately).

Though, to get a little bit more back on track, I do find it somewhat sad that while back in the day Insomnia offers would sell out 250 copies in a minute, today some of them struggle to do so in 6hrs; for example, Death Trash that's just hit 3hrs is at precisely 300/3000 copies sold.
Death Trash is amazing project and has potential to be insta-classic when it'll be completed and quality will be up to what is at the moment. Problem is, it's currently completed in about 1/3 and development became really very slow since last year. It gets monthly updates but those are mostly small things. So judging by current pace it's looong way to finish.

Wottie: I sincerely hope GOG won't miss this opportunity to make a joke, even if it should appear for just an hour or so, or maybe with a very limited amount, like 10 copies, for $0.01 or something. Just reference it in some way, pretty please!
Real joke would be putting it for 48 hours with 20k copies.

AttObl: Can't wait for Jack Keane 2!

+1

If GOG pulls that joke, I will buy it for old times' sake.

CarChris: I think that, up until now, most of these sales aren’t steep enough. In my opinion sales such as these (flash, or now insomnia) should be at least 80% off and I have bought games in such flash deals. With +80% off you draw someone’s attention, making him/her realize that it is a unique opportunity.
I agree. At 89% I added Lego Batman 3 to complete the collection, and I haven't played any of them yet.

Aye, I didn't see how many copies LEGO Batman 3 sold, but Frostpunk only moved 2290 copies, Solasta sold 1553, and Founder's Fortune only 383. To be fair, it's not just a question of discount percentage, the Insomnia prices back in the day were usually well below $10. Jack Keane 2 struggled to move 100 copies with only a modest discount after all. :)

Nothing can touch the Keaning muahahahaha :D. Cheers
Only one game at a time?

LEGO Batman 3 has sold 1383 copies.

@helpo1: Actually, if it's possible, it would be interesting if you could include the copies sold in your log.

Zeeaire: I loved the Insomnia Sales in the past because you always want to know what comes next, and games draw your attention, that you would otherwise have overlooked...
...but the coolest thing about the Insomnia Sales in the past were the freebies you could catch if you clicked fast enough, I spent whole nights awake because of that even if there was school the next day and it was fun to read in the comment section about who caught which freebie...I got Theme Hospital and Two Worlds II Velvet edition through that, I'm still telling friends storys of my Insomnia freebies and how I enjoyed trying them out....
But there won't be any free games to catch this time, right? :(
avatar
LiefLayer: You are 100% right. I still remember that night where I got Nox for free (it was amazing after hearing that much about the game that night) and after getting hogs of war (the only game that didn't work LOL).
And I got like 5 games from other gog user that night, all of them really cool. And I paid for Amnesia and I think Dreamfall Chapter 1 that night.
There was another Insomnia after that and before this one without freebies where I giveaway some games back to the community...

If the next game really is Blood maybe we can go back for a minute to that time, but only with a good special discount... I cannot believe there are 20% discount on an Insomnia sale...
Cool, someone who has similar memories :D
Those were great times...I also bought games on that sale, but the freebies were a really nice addition, and I tried them all...it was much more gratifying to get them with enough speed and luck than to just get one by clicking on redeem during a giveaway...it's a pity they don't do that anymore, for me personally it was a highlight, even if some of the games weren't that expensive anyways it was a nice feature to look forward to :) I can imagine that it would attract some new curious customers if the Insomnia Sale would be more like the one in the past...
You're right, the 20% discount is not what you would expect from an Insomnia Sale...I also have the feeling that it goes slower than back in the days...There were some slowpokes like the infamous Jack Keane, but in general, it seemed smoother^^
Maybe sales would speed up if they put the Insomnia sale at the top of the page, rather than halfway down. I've only just found it! :-D

While I could add the data to my list, that's a distinctly manual thing to track, because I don't really have the means to run the script 24/7 or (at least) at every offer change time (and I'm not aware of this info being publicly tracked anywhere for past deals - the current one always provides insomniaDetails.sold). Provided someone (or the community collectively) is able to keep track of the final number once every offer expires, sure, it can be done.

Seems to be going a bit too slowly.
