As some of you already know, Julian Gollop has been working on Chaos Reborn, a Kickstarter funded remake to his 1985 game Chaos: The Battle of Wizards and it's due to be released on October 26th.

Has anyone played the early access version and if so, what are your impressions? I guess there aren't many here who purchase early access games on Steam but asking doesn't cost anything.

Amok and Crosmando already made threads about Chaos Reborn but due to the date of those threads, there is no reply option anymore:

Well, it is released today... but I guess not here.
Indeed!

No matter where it landed - it's Chaos and it's been reborn!

The reviews over at Steam seem largely positive, the game is out of my price comfort range though so I'll wait until it's cheaper and (hopefully) available over here. In the meantime, the GOG wishlist has a glorious 29 votes:

Alternative log-in system? For single-player?

So multiplayer only. Zero interest.

I suppose it is for multi player, I do not know enough to be sure.

I made a educated guess based on GoG history and DRM free policy. (Age of Wonder 3 where you can play single player DRM free, but need DRM for multi player)

Thanks for the info, guess we'll get this here in due time.
I haven't played any multiplayer oriented games in ages but this particular game seems ideal for short 1 vs 1 battles. On the other hand, I think I'm generally done with multiplayer (even co-op) as it can be stressful and I mainly play to relax. If I want positive stress, I prefer RL contact sports which create a healthier kind of stress where you feel relaxed afterwards, I never got this relaxed feeling from multiplayer games that get you all pumped up mentally but your body isn't doing anything much, it's weird and imba.
Glad there is a singleplayer quest, too, so whether I get this game or not will depend on how good the AI is and how much fun the singleplayer campaign is.

The game appears to have a realm quest mode with procedural map generation for singleplayer:

Ah so it wasn't a day one release because of lack of singleplayer. That's a lot more reasonable than somethings get on rejection.
