Seems to be official: the sequel to the 1993 DOS platformer Jetpack will be released on Steam. Perhaps this can convince the folks at GOG.com to release it too.

Nice find. Seems like a decent game. I guess it comes down to how good the levels will be.
Apparently they're running a contest to see who can come up with the best one.
Would be cool to see a bundle of Jetpack + Jetpack 2 appear here, especially since I know how much BillyMaysFan has been pushing for it.

Yeah, agreed!
Am I the only one who loved the Jetpack reboot for the x360?! Love that game.
Dunno if anyone would be interested, but here are the levels I made for the online beta:

Jetpack is free, so I think there shouldn't be a problem bundling it.

Just in case anyone wants to tamper with the Jetpack 2 level editor beta, here's a nice guide created by JetpackHQ user DarkWolfNine: (You'll want to sign up as a Beta Tester, however, if you want unlimited usage of the online beta)

Even if Jetpack 2 doesn't get released here, there will be a DRM-free version available on the developer's website anyway. Still would be nice to have it here too, that way the game gets more exposure.

Oh, and here's some gameplay footage of some user-made levels for Jetpack 1 that I recorded and uploaded to YouTube: (read description for details, these levels were made by GOGgers!)

I released a new level last night:

The Lost Castle

Visual design for this level is loosely based on the classic Thief games. (Notice the medieval theme and the steampunk-ish decorations at the bottom ;)

Quick bump since Jetpack 2 is almost at 200 votes in the wishlist. :)
Nice, I really hope it comes to gog. I used to play the original all the time with my brother. I first heard about the sequel back in 2009, and it's been interesting to watch it develop.
200 votes for Jetpack 2 now.

I'm working on a GOG themed level to celebrate this milestone. :)

Really would be a nice surprise to see that wish marked as in progress :)

Late reply, but the contest already ended months ago. It's still worth creating levels though :)

Speaking of which, I highly recommend signing up as a beta tester. It supports the project and allows you unlimited access to the level editor beta. (Not to mention it comes with a pre-order too!) Tons of fun. :D
Sent a message to GOG about this the other day. Hopefully they respond soon. Of course I encourage anyone else who is interested to contact GOG too.

It also might be nice to see a bluetext post in the thread... ;)

Edit: W00t Jetpack 1 is at 100 votes! :D

Got a response from GOG, though it didn't really say whether or not they were interested in releasing the game.

Still, can't hurt to keep voting. :)
