Generic advice: wait for a sale. ;-P

Elmofongo: I have been eyeing this game, specifically this game's DLC for awhile now because this trailer got me interested:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RNOy63UZXvM

Its perhaps the closest thing we are gonna get to a Medieval 3 Total War. And I loved Medieval 2.

So anyway is this DLC worth it? To anyone who has it?
Personally I left this series after Medieval 2, got myself the box compilation which is nice. After that they completely ruined it, Rome 2 was not only DRM riddled, but was a dreadful game. Wouldn't bother with any other in the series.

I wanted to get it with the 20 bucks I have, but my brother wanted me to subscribe in WOW so I can help him in Dungeons :P

Are you specfically referring to "Steam" DRM or they added another layer of DRM?

Errr...guys, no...Attila is:

a. better optmized than Rome 2
b. a better game overall

A good read on the matter:

https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2016/01/04/best-total-war/

As if Charlemagne worth 15 euro...errr...can't say. I rarely buy games outside sales. So i still don't have the Atilla DLC's yet (but i can say that i have every other Total War games)

Personally, i like a lot more the two Shogun games, followed closely by the original Rome, the Medieval games, Attila, Napoleon, Empire and my least favorite being Rome 2 (was a mess stayed a mess).

Despite me loving the original Shogun, i ended up loving equally its sequel. Shogun 2 with all its expansions is truly worthy of the name Total War and probably doing right what Empire could not: a proper firearms era.

But if you are on a tight budget and want the game - buy in a sale or a bundle.

Elmofongo: Why need modding at all for Warhammer Total War when Medieval 2 is still making content mods like this?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XBJHCVk1UvM

And you know aswell as I do that modding in TWH will just be used to "unlock" the other factions. Instead of making something like Wacraft Total War.

Shadowstalker16: Nah those faction unlock mods will be taken down if that faction is gonna become DLC. And TWC won't host it, so it won't be on Steam workshop or on TWC, so it'll obsolete. As to what the devs will do; they certainly won't break the short leash they're bound to follow with Games Workshop; so if it ain't WH, it won't be on TWH from the part od the devs, which is sad as they could've made stuff like you said since they're doing some engine overhauls for air units and ground-land warfare. The malicious thing is that they don't even release allow the fanbase to dream either. I can only imagine how those Rally Point guys do WH voices.
I think the reason as to why there are no mods is because of the Warhammer/Games Workshop license

I just think Games Workshop does not want to be held accountable if something like Copyright takedowns happen.

I mean look what happened to that "Complete Lord of the Rings Middle Earth" mod for Skyrim.

Well, I think it was napolean I picked up, and yes if memory serves it was steam or such like. Glad I only picked it up for a quid or two, it went in the bin and on the list of those never to buy.

Yes

Or don't want modders using assets from their license for other mods

I'm pretty sure they won't incur legal liability if someone makes a mod of another company's IP, I think they're just being cynical in not wanting modders to use the assets they helped develop in ways they can't profit from.

Also a note that GW may have killed modding in the contract so they could supposedly sell more DLC.

Heck was there modding in Empire, Shogun 2, Rome 2, and Attila?

Anyway the only DLC I am excited for is the possible Bretonnia DLC. I have read the history and I prefer a High Medieval Faction in Bretonnia than a Late Medieval in The Empire.

No guns and cannons for me.

Just bows, horsemen, and armored swordsme and pikemen.

Elmofongo: Yes I am aware of the horror that is Rome 2's launch and I have seen this perticular youtuber's review of the game (its not Angry Joe mind you)
Yes because a random YouTube person shows exactly what state Rome 2 is in now.

I do not think it's worth it. CA/SEGA dlc model is not worth supporting either. The game doesn't seem like it was optimized better than Rome 2. If you watch videos for TW: Warhammer, you see their machines chugging along to try and render that game. So I don't see much hope that it will get better with time due to patches. I don't think a smooth running game is that high of a priority to them.

But that's Rome 2 though. He never talked about Attila Total War or the Age of Charlemange DLC.
