If someone got Fallout 1/2/Tactics when they were free, are they eligible for the offer?
This question / problem has been solved by Barry_Woodwardimage
No. Free or not, those were the Interplay versions. You only get Arena and Daggerfall on GOG if you purchase a Bethesda Softworks LLC game.

I knew you got Daggerfall but I didn't see you could get Arena as well. That's cool.

I was surprised by that as well.

AFAIK, right now the only way of getting those games here is through the offer. They don't appear to have their own store pages, so I'm guessing that they'll be here later.
Just found out, you DON'T get them if your first purchase is a gift. Wonder if the giftee will get it?
I see...
Do the games require DOSBox like the ones available on Bethesda's The Elder Scrolls site?

Yes, they do.

Yes, but GOG has the superior CD version of Arena with voiced cutscenes, while the one offered on Bethesda's site is the floppy version.

I see.
What about Daggerfall?

Pretty sure it was only ever released on CD so I'd say so!

*edit Anyone else remember that oh so shiny and beautiful big box? Mmmmmmm.... sexy polychromatic goodness... ;)

didn't care. still don't care. those games aged horribly. maybe "aged" isn't the word. they were pretty bad when they first came out too.
EDIT: i mean the 2 TES game.

I assume you know this but just to be clear, GOG does the pre-configuration of DOSBox for you.

So why are you here? ;)

Well, most games that were in first-person around that time aged horribly, in my opinion.

Also, fast movement, 2.5D, first-person, repeating textures...
Those things really make me feel nauseous, though I do not know why (I am okay with games like Minecraft, Halo: CE, and Fallout)

Nausea and such aside, it is still nice to see where the TES series started.

ARENA is largely the same as the free one, if you can figure DosBOX

Daggerfall's free version is inferior to this GoG release, but there's a patched up portable binary slapped together if you know where to look.

That being said, it's nice that they're offering it and I'm really happy to see Battlespire and Redguard back in circulation.

Now if only they could give us those mobile tES games for free...
