azrael-: Just installed the GOG Downloader, but I'm unable to run it (it installs just fine, though). Should I post the error log here in this thread or elsewhere?
Post it here, please :D.
The version of GOG Downloader is the latest stable currently available (3.0.52).
I'm using Windows XP SP2, English. The following .NET frameworks are installed: 1.1, 2.0 SP2, 3.0 SP2 3.5 SP1, 4 Client Profile and Extended. I also have the following MSXML packages installed: 4.0 SP (with hot fixes) and 6.0 SP2.
Firefox 14.0.1, Chrome 20.0.1132.57, IE6 installed. Firefox is the default browser, but I'm not using any browser integration yet.

The problem is fairly simple to describe. I try running the GOG Downloader, but all I get is an error message dialog with a pointer to the log file included below. I find the error a bit odd given that 0.6 is nothing if not a double value. :)

The error is odd, given the fact that it works for everyone else.
Have you tried verifying that your .NET installation is valid?

http://blogs.msdn.com/b/astebner/archive/2008/10/13/8999004.aspx
Choose .NET 3.5 SP1 from the list and let me know what are the results. If it says you're good to go, I'll try to come up with something.
I've run the .NET Setup Verification Utility and my 3.5 SP1 installation verifies as OK.

I've attached a screenshot of the utility and can provide the log file(s) if necessary.

Could this be something of a locale settings issue when parsing strings as numeral values? I was thinking of something along the line of '.' being parsed as ',' or vice versa.
Attachments:
Yup. That appears to be it. I'm using a slightly modified English regional setting in that I use the more common European symbols for decimals and digit grouping, ',' and '.' respectively (as in 123.456,789), whereas with a "normal" English regional setting these symbols would be reversed (123,456.789).

I really do not want to change that. A solution would be to read out the decimal and digit grouping values from the Windows natural language settings and use the specified ones for parsing.

I'm thinking of these:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/dd373841%28v=vs.85%29.aspx
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/dd373895%28v=vs.85%29.aspx

I don't know how to use them from C#, though. There's probably a corresponding class or two. :)

EDIT: This looks relevant for .NET:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.globalization.numberformatinfo.numberdecimalseparator%28v=vs.90%29
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.globalization.numberformatinfo.numbergroupseparator%28v=vs.90%29

Thanks for a deep through look into the problem. I'll look at it and provide a solution for you.
That sounds great! Thanks a lot! :)

I just downloaded and installed the downloader version 3.0.52, and after that I received a message about manually updating to 3.0.51b. I'm pretty sure that's no longer applicable, yes? :)
Having login issues with both the stable and beta versions. Here's the specs for my PC:

English version of Windows XP, Service Pack 3

When I attempt to login, the downloader gives me an error saying the email and password are wrong. I have no problems with the email and password when logging in to the website. When I attempt to close the login screen, I receive another message saying I must login before proceeding. I also tried turning off XP's firewall and got the same issue.
