It is the reason it is being brought in now, same as why Facebook want to push the facial recognition through now, before GDPR comes in.

I'm aware, I'd actually tried that recently. But making a new profile is currently broken as the admins don't get a notifcation mail. Didn't get a response yet either way.

It's extra hassle anyway.

This.

Although it isn't as bad as when blizzard decided to leak your email by default to whoever got added as a friend in World of Warcraft.

This is actually illegal by the new EU privacy law that goes in to effect in May.

They want to implement this feature before May. :D ;)

Also known as "thanks for giving me the option to still have an account here instead of asking for it to be deleted as soon as I download all my games". Seriously, fuck all this social nonsense with a rusty spoon.

Also, for heaven's sake, why isn't this a blue news thread? Why nothing in the Headlines? Why is the default way of informing the users about hings always a indistinct forum thread?

Also this.

So I'm assuming this means we will be finally be able to allow other people to see our Achievements for GOG games? If so, great! That feature is long over-due, but I'm glad it's finally coming. That's the best news from GOG I've seen all year.
thanks for the heads up, I dont really think it will impact me much, I do like the ability to see if a reviewer even owns the game on gog (but most will have that option turned off i bet) still, a bit of a giggle nonetheless

elcook: We will be talking about it in the official announcement of the feature on the main page, when it goes live. This is just a heads up for you, the most dedicated ones, who hang out here in the forums. You guys and gals are also the most sensitive for such changes, hence the forum post to let you know earlier.
While I'm neutral on the profile thing at this point, the chance to set options (and to notify us about it) before it goes live was an excellent decision on your part. Thanks!!

I was wondering, GOG, why don't you guys ever thought of putting up an option were you can show/hide the fact that you are online or offline? Since you've taken the trouble of setting up brand new display options, this one seems to have slipped through the cracks. I would say this is a good privacy option, so people don't harangue you if you don't want them too at a certain point (like if you are gaming). Even Steam has this.

Oh yeah, that is usefull.
