I assume with the release of Doom 2016 many people are either searching for classic Doom, or one or more popular YouTube videos (like a TotalBiscuit vid) about Doom 2016 linked to GOG's versions of Doom. Either way it made the front page once again.

By the way, where's Doom 3 for GOG?! Where is it IronArcturus, where is it, you'd never give it to an ordinary shitizen...
glad i'm not the only one who noticed this.

I play D3 from disc and even then I have to use a lot of cracks codes and crap to get through the update and registration DRM stuff. Somehow I think with the BFG and other updates they are gonna hang onto it for a while. True I'm no expert, but they still seem to be raking it in working with Steam and the like. No one is going to go for DLC or online updates or registrations for the 1st two Doom games so they let them go.

Great, they can keep the BFG edition.

I thought Doom 3 only had a code.

It did! :P Up until a year or so ago you installed it, used the code on the disc, and you were good to go. NOW they have seemingly voided all these codes. Last time I installed it the code was rejected and I was told I had to go to a web page and get a new code which involved an online registration and a bunch of other crap. I think I ended up using a crack which works but it makes changing the settings almost impossible and of course doesn't work for the expansion, which isn't that great so I'm not too upset about that.

That's pretty weird. I think I'll go fire my original Doom 3 disc tonight to see if I have those issues as well...

Why don't you use <i>dhewm</i>?
I remember port worked great on windows.

That looks a tad confusing. And honestly I'm afraid to screw with my current installation. I have it running, and without the disc, but it took me a day to get it that way. I don't want to try something else, find out it doesn't work, and then go back to trying to remember how I had it installed the first time.

Don't panic! ; )
Download dhewm3_1.4.0_win32.zip and unpack where Doom 3 is installed. That's it. Make a shortcut to dhewm3.exe and enjoy the game : )

WAIT WAIT WAIT
I needs to be updated to 1.3.1
I can't do that without getting viable working codes, not cracks.

didn't work. Says it can find correct cfg.
