Thanks so much for your thoughts, everyone
----------
It has been a tragic year for the hobby of peakbagging, especially in the fields of county highpointing and prominence climbing.
Adam Helman passed away in a fire in his home in San Diego on January 9. He was not only a prolific climber, but the webmaster of cohp.org. In other words, in many ways, the heart and soul of the county highpointing community. He was the second person to reach the highest point of all 414 counties in the contiguous western United States. RIP.
Edward Earl passed away on June 20 while on an Arctic expedition. On an attempted river crossing he lost the rope and was unable to be revived when the others reached him about 1km downstream. Edward was not only a prolific climber, but also the author of WinProm, the computer program that calculates topographic prominence. RIP.
Both were accomplished, but their true legacies go well beyond their climbing resumes. I was lucky to call both friends.
----------
In memory, I am giving away 5 copies (to 5 different winners) of Mountain from the Humble store. It is DRM-free and available for Windows, Mac, and Linux.
