OldOldGamer: Here on GOG? There aren't game I want to play.
Not anymore.

Berzerk2002: I suggest leaving then.
I'm here just to make your day worse.

You have to try harder then. So far: mission failed.
Congrats Nightmare Reaper, bamboozler of the year, for breaking the [quality of artwork] / [quality of game visuals] record. I expect it to hold for a long-ass time, unless Tony DiTerlizzi paints a poster for Overwatch.
We're all missing out on many good games, and out life won't last enough to play all of them, and new ones come out everyday. I would rather be missing out on those that make my eyes bleed, and the fake "retro" shooters - like Project Warlock you mentioned - , without insta save and graphics WORSE than Wolfenstein 3D, with a MODERN bad-looking-pixelated, not retro at all. I didn't question the gameplay (though I bet it has very little of the real classics).
Children of Morta is well.done pixel art. This looks just like indie convention eye sore to me.
As for Painkiller...it was ok, nothing more, mindless fun but too repetitive and over-celebrated.

I mean, I think you definitely should only give money to games that interest you, but I'd be careful about judging games mainly by graphics. Nightmare Reaper has 95% on Steam, so it must be doing something right.

I kinda agree, but at the same time: Painkiller (along with Doom and a handful of other games) still feels revolutionary in the sea of FPS games infested with boring bullet spongy enemies and level design that has you never battle more than a mere handful of foes at a time. Sigh, why are 95% of FPS games like that. It's like the level designers never think about encounters, they just throw stuff here and there to keep the player a little busy, and that's all the thought they can put into it.

It might be the greatest game ever that I am not interested into playing. What I criticize it that these should be "retro" shooters when they look like MODERN-Minecraft style pixel games and sometimes don't even have classic pc games features like instant save with good old F5, but most of the times console-like checkpoints. Then I am happy for everyone who can enjoy it, thay they can have it.

Don't get me wrong, I loved many things of Painkiller! It's a very good game! I just don't get its beatification in life!

That's fine, I respect your tastes, but Nightmare Reaper is really far from being a "console game"!

I never said N R is a console game. I have clearly explained my POW.

lol, true
I'm super interested in this game, but the rating are low with a score of 2.2 stars by the time I'm writing this. Nobody even bothered to write a review. Can someone who gave this game a lower rating tell why this game is bad or at the very least post a video explaining the flaws about it? Theres no way this game is really that bad. I mean I've already read some Steam reviews and from what I can see its nowhere near as bad as people imply here.

At least there are new games that try to emulate the look and feel of older games, I can't find any reason why thats bad. The gameplay looks as good as Project Warlock which was fun, though more faithful to Wolfenstein 3D esque FPS games.

Besides any of that stuff it also reminds me of SuperDuper Quake (high fives to people who remember this).

I think that these reviews were left by haters who never played the game. The game JUST released on GOG, so it'll take time for more real reviews to come in.
If you want accurate reviews, read the reviews on the Steam page.

Does 2.2 sound really that bad? If it's a five-star rating system, the average game should be rated 2.5. Of course gamers like to overhype everything or take a dump over minor and subjective issues so stars mean nothing and are highly subjective.

EDIT: actually the average should be 3 when the minimum rating is one star. On the other hand, looking at the stars and seeing 3/5 does give the visual impression of it being above average. What a mess...

Well, it's kinda broken that you can leave a review even if you didn't buy the game. The verified reviewer score is 5/5 though.
