Ion Maiden is now available In Development, DRM-free on GOG.com.
Bombshell is back, more pissed, determined, and pixelated than ever. This time dispensing violence in first person, she goes on a righteous rampage against a mad cult leader and his cybernetic army. Gonzo FPS action, multi-path levels filled with secrets, guns, and guts, plus all the old-school goodness you've come to expect from a shooter spawned by the legendary Build engine which powered Duke Nukem 3D, Blood, and Shadow Warrior.

Note: This game is currently in development. See the FAQ to learn more about games in development, and check out the forums to find more information and to stay in touch with the community.

Reminder: Owners of Bombshell Digital Deluxe Edition have access to a prequel demo of Ion Maiden, containing several hours of gameplay.

Mr.Mumbles: I hope they add a bit more character to Shelly and make her a bit more eccentric. Right now she comes across as a bit tame.
She needs to be louder, angrier, and have access to a time machine.

Digital_CHE: I'm gonna buy it for three reasons:

A compatriot is involved in the development of this game. (Si, te guglié)

12U$D is not much.

I like the preview campaign of Ion Maiden, (even when, for technical reasons, I was initially very reluctant about another pixelated DN3D clone.)
12 USD???? what on earth is going on witih regional pricing? it's nearly 25 AUD and it's currently about .76 AUD to USD. if it's also 20 euro than that is even more ridiculous!! correct me if i am missing something here. is it based on percieved value in a specific country and nothing to do with exchange rates?

EDIT...ok so checking the 3DRealms site the game is listed at 20 USD. i guess it depends on the country the purchaser resides in.

Just finished the demo and loved it. The gunplay and the weapons all feel so satisfying, even the pistol feels good. Sounds are also very good.

In Argentina, 1 U$D is about 21 AR$, so the regional pricing is something We really need for to have the games at the level of our poor wallets... Before the regional pricing on gog and Steam, it was impossible to buy something at full price.
Just a man with long hair. How original. Heck, she don`t even have boobs any more. How bloody boring.

I`ll be buying that- NOT.

yeah figures. it's good that they are allowing these games to be more readily available in countries where the average income is a lot lower. fairness isn't always simply black and white.
TBH I am most excited to start making levels for this game. It's been far too long since I've fired up the build editor.
Since every game genre now feel the need to have this i have to ask… does Ion Maiden does have in any way RPG mechanics (narrative aside) gameplay-wise? Because if so this would be not interesting for me.

Or in other words: Is only the player's personal skill important? You yourself as a person with your personal skill improve by actually learning and mastering the game (or failing and try again) instead of NUMBERS? If so i am interested :)

Bombshell was a big disappointment for me, but Ion Maiden sounds very promising. And my kudos that you use an old engine with love for art design rather than those lifeless aaa "shooters" nowadays.

The only numbers you'll be seeing (at least in the preview campaign, can't make any guarantees about the final campaign) are your armour, your health and your ammo. Just like Duke Nukem 3D and many others 90s first-person shooters.
