Maighstir: I can agree that this is a bit annoying, and I would not want such a behaviour myself. Find the folder where The Witcher 3 is installed, somewhere within that, you will find an executable to launch the game, make a shortcut to that and place wherever you wish.

h.e.X.e.n.: ho... my... god........ so, every time i lauch galaxy for any reason i need to remove the "reformatted" shortcut of the witcher 3 with galaxy with one on original game folder?

This is frustrating.....
galaxy is optional in that you can play your GOG games perfectly fine (single player) without ever having to download and install it, However if you DO download and install it, it might start hooking into your GOG games, for your convenience, as you decided you wanted to use it by installing it!
The latest patches should be available as 'stand-alone' installers from the gamecard in your library so you don't need Galaxy to keep things up to date either...

snowkatt: cause its still running in your system tray
This is why Galaxy opens every time OP starts TW3

Does everyone know there is an option to make sure Galaxy turns on only when you specifically want it to?

marklaur: GoG is certainly not making many friends with their new client. Even if optional they pushing it on to customers, and is the only method of installing the game listed in the manual. Especially for a client still in beta to push this onto their customers shows a bit of disregard.

But still better than DRM, at this stage at least, but not looking forward to the future with GoG and Galaxy.

Regards
Actually, they are making tons of friends. As evidenced by the droves of new users. Yes, there are complaining threads, but there aren't that many, when you actually count them up. A few dozen, perhaps.

In order to do that, you should disable it in your startup programs to begin with. Then I don't have experienced any issue with it launching itself with games.

Go to the settings and disable "Run GOG Galaxy at Windows startup".

XD It was a rhetorical question.

They just spent tons of money making that client. Of course they're going to push it. It wouldn't make sense not to.

Reminds me of this bit from Zero Punctuation:

"Massive nerd kills his way through ten colorful assassins to in some way convince himself that his new laser sword wasn't a waste of money." Yeah, I was like that when I bought a sandwich toaster.

That's fair enough but don't push it as optional if your game manual says you have to use it and you have to install it when you install the game.

don't get me wrong I still support GoG, but they just lost their no drm credibility with me, that's all.
