OK,

I bought Fallout, Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics some time before when they were introduced to GOG. They still show up in my library; however, they don't show up as 'owned' with the 2nd coming.

Is there something new, something different, something improved or is it just because it made a re-entrance that it doesn't show as me having purchased it before.

I think GOG decided to make them new editions in the system because they're missing some of what the versions that were sold when Interplay had the rights.. had.
Some extras and a Mac version perhaps.
Add to this that owning any of the games in its "new version" form triggers Arena and Daggerfall being added to your Library. And all that's been said is the only difference you'd find. Unless you're a completionist, no reason to buy them again actually ! Remains now to be seen what happens whith future OS's. Only time will tell

everything you need to know is linked by stg83. aside from that, it seems that even if you own a (classic) fallout title, you're still able to purchase this fallout title again. it would be interesting to see if we'll get then a second fallout title icon on the game shelf. if i had the money for such nonsense, i'd try it out.

wow woodward is really insane. bethesda could at least put a badge like "bethesda support version" on the icon of their version so the user is able to notice a difference.

Indeed, mine is "Fallout 2 Classic" which doesn't show up in the store as there is no store page link. This is going to drive completionists nuts as now they have to have multiple copies of the same game in order to be complete.

Why? The versions from before they were pulled are all "classic" editions. So, I have Fallout Classic, Fallout 2 Classic and Fallout Tactics Classic.

its just a cosmetic reason, since the icons are the same. i know that the titles changed

Again I ask, why would they change that? Anybody that didn't already own a copy would have to buy a new copy, but the only differences here are the goodies included. I don't believe there are any other changes involved.
I was going to say something wise but wise words have already being spoken so what ever I say further will be stupid. :P

its not a big deal, its just important (at least to me) to notice a small difference when looking at the game shelf, thats all.
what goodies?

Emachine9643: what goodies?
I don't think the new one comes with any other than the bare minimum of a manual. For example, the older version of Fallout has the Fallout Bible, Avatars, wall paper, sound track and a few other things. The Bethesda version has a manual.

I think that if they ever allow us to look at other people's shelves, that's something worth doing. At the present, the only people that are going to notice are people that own both copies.

Still, it does seem like if they're going to have a different name, then they should have a different box.

I wouldn't mind giving a look-see at my shelf; however, I would prefer that I don't be sold the same game twice, especially if the only difference is the name.

They sold me Coca-Cola once before, then it became "Classic Coke". If there's nothing really new to see, I'd prefer to have them mark it as 'owned'.
