Welcome to GOG :)
Yes, you can download your game's installer and put it on a flash drive, so you can install later when you have a better computer.
You can read a little review about your graphic card here:

And the games I recomend you are the Witcher series. I think you shouldn't have problems starting by the first one.

If you like RPG's you'll find great games here, also good ones for your actual computer. Enjoy :)

Shmacky-McNuts: Win8 is kinda a strange duck when it comes to refunds. When people complain that a game won't work when they put the game onto Win 8. You can literally hear them from Poland laughing at you when you file a complaint to customer service...even around the planet ;D
Well, if the reason for not adding Win8 as the supported OS is because they saw some issues on some Win8 configurations, I can fully understand if they don't refund in those cases.

It runs, but (depending what kind of Intel HD 4000 PC), quite slowly. I can run both Witcher 1-2 on my HP laptop (with Intel graphics), but especially the latter I have to put to the lowest detail settings and pretty low resolution, to get any kind playable speed.

So, they can run, but quite poorly. They ran much better on another cheap non-gaming HP laptop (medium settings or so), apparently just because it had some low-end NVidia graphics.

ZFR: If you like RPGs, get Baldur's Gate.

huN73R: However seeing that he is a new user here, I think it'd be a better purchase if he waited for Dungeons and Dragons ultimate bundle in spring sale, if he is into older RPG's.
Well there is the sale. GO GO GO.
