_ChaosFox_: To be honest, I thought this month's early unlock for Humble Monthly (Elder Scrolls online and stuff for Quake Champions) stank a little bit of something unpleasant, and I have the sneaking suspicion that IGN already had their finger in it. It's a fair bet that most of the monthly stuff and the Humble Bundles themselves will now be "tasters" for masses of DLC, subscriptions and microtransactions as part of IGN's advertising business.

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt this month, but if my suspicion turns out to be true, I'll be cancelling next month. The quality of the monthlies has already been debatable for the past few months (barring the odd gem like Rise of the Tomb Raider).
Yeah, I also thought it was kinda crap. If I wanted freemium, micro-transactional stuff, I wouldn't be here on the GOG forums. I'd be eight years old and a moron.
If I weren't an annual subscriber, I'd haved skipped November based on the Early Unlocks. As it is, I chalked it up to an experiment by Humble as to whether there was a market, but now I'm suspecting more sinister motives.
I'll wait and see how it turns out though.
A lot of the games have appeared in other Humble Bundles later, so I suppose we're paying for the first bundling unlocks, or bundling premieres as it were. Now the question is, is the "extra" money worth it?

[Edit: typo.]

Well, this could certainly explain why the monthly early unlocks are so retarded this month. :D

I can't see the acquisition having much impact on HB though... Aside from everyone dragging the "humble tip" slider down to zero.

I just tried to buy a bundle only to be told my account is disabled. Is this because of the "already dead to me" comment?
(no Vive back then....)

"VR's so cool".
Facebook nails Oculus balls to the wall.

"Bundles are amazing! Indie bundles, Linux ports, hooorraaaay".
And now this? What's next, a monetized Mario game? ;P

YUCK!!

Interesting. My go-to bullshit birthdate has been 01/01/1960 for quite some time. I've used that on age gates for few years now.
I've been thinking... since they've already messed around with the "choose where your money goes" sliders, they should have renamed the "Humble tip" slider to something more appropriate. Like "Support ethics in games jounlolism" or "Dorito tax".

B-but... those birth year verification drop down menus usually start somewhere in the mid-to-late 90s. I'd have to scroll all the way up to the 1980s or 1960s. The effrontery!

PS: Yep, I also had some trouble when selecting the amounts of money but in the end I could do it.

Looks like we share birhdays—imagine that!
So, i finished downloading an entire HB content, which i own.
Great thing about HB is that they provide md5sums and torrent files.
I purchased another ebook humble bundle deal yesterdey, as previously promised, I ended up giving $0.00000000 as the humble bundle tip.

morrowslant: Interesting news.
At least for me, it means that Humble Bundle "tips" in future purchases at the HB site will be set to Zero.
The past few purchases I've made from HB site have been ebooks, or audiobooks, not games.
Raise that dev bar up and up!

Mine's always 01.01.1917 or 18, 19. Who cares?!
I may be one of the oldest gaming pops out there. Maybe this is what devs think of me while playing their scary game, who knows?! :P
