Stephen Kick of Nightdive Studios tweeted, "Hey @Disney can we @NightdiveStudio do a remaster of Dark Forces, please? Signed, everyone who likes this tweet."

It couldn't hurt to like the tweet if you have a Twitter account and are interested, however likely or unlikely a remaster is.
Make the jumping controls more precise and I'm sold. That stupid triangle platform to break Crix Madine out of prison always had my palms sweating.
If they remastered it to be more like Jedi Academy I would be sold on a remaster.

Funny you should say that since there was a Dark Forces TC being made for Jedi Academy a long time ago. It was never fully completed, however most of the game is there. The official site is dead now but you can probably find it elsewhere.

There is also a Jedi Engine remake called DarkXL/XL Engine but the current site seems to be dead too. Only the old DarkXL site exists but all of the links on it are broken.
I didn't even have to open this thread, before I made the assumption that it must be Nightdive.
Remastered as in just a source port of the original game with modern features like widescreen, fov etc? If so YES I would like it, but a new game in Unreal engine or whatever - NO.
First, they should finish their System Shock remake, then they may think about more projects.
Running after 2 rabbits at the same time is the best way to catch none.
He also mentioned Dungeon Master along those same lines awhile back. I wonder what happened with that?

This.

I'm not a fan of their overpriced re-masters so far. And they have a big unfinished project that they should focus on. So I'm not going to encourage them to spread out their resources even more.

I'm pretty sure he means giving Dark Forces to Samuel Villareal (svKaiser) and letting him do his magic on it.

It's literaly what he has been doing with all remasters from his company. :)

Yeah. I was following XL Engine for the Daggerfall part of the engine but Lucius seems to have quit with everything there. The site went down not too long ago, I assume because he didn't pay the bill and recently came back up in a broken state.

Oh please. It's Disney. They are so hilariously clueless as to what to do with Star Wars, they're more likely to give the license to someone who'll make the "remaster" into a match 3 mobile game.

Someone finally said it!!

I gave them a chance but after seeing the daylight butchery they made of the movies, I'm boycotting anything related to the new Disney Wars.

Nightdive is at it again...How do we stop these maniacs?
I'm hesistant about this because I believe EA has the rights to Star Wars games so it's on them to remaster it. Unless something changed, I don't see this tweet doing anything aside from a lawsuit about breach of contract if a remaster is started in development.
