Highlander the series was a guilty pleasure of mine.

snowkatt: sadly there are far too many sequels
I watched the 2nd one and I wish I hadn't. Beyond that I didn't realize that they kept making them. I think the 2nd one was where they were in that dystopian nightmare and explained everything as being aliens.

fortune_p_dawg: ...i have ever seen in my life. i made it through like the first 15 minutes or so before passing out, but holy crap that noggin. the movie seems fun though. raiden running around like william wallace with a samurai sword, yes please!

muttly13: Lambert pops in on the series no? I could swear he was in one or two episodes or do they just mention he is his cousin or something? Also forgot how they got around Duncan not being a part of The Gathering, was he knocked out or something? That mystical tollgate has some serious flaws in its record keeping...
Lambert is in the first episode of the series where they introduce Duncan and he "passes the torch" in a way (although not yet in a final way) to help the viewers get accustomed to the new character. After watching the movie, I would advise jumping to the TV series as it was far, far better than Highlander 2. Also the series has entertaining characters like Roger (The Who) Daltrey as Hugh Fitzcairn (a personal favorite from the Highlander series). If you do watch the second movie, though, I would suggest the Renegade edition as it fixes many of the problems with the original version.

Tragically, Bill Panzer, the brain behind the series is gone, so there can never really be another Highlander film or show like the classics. In Highlander terms, "there can be only one" Bill Panzer. Still, with the show and some of the movies, there is plenty to enjoy.

I have no idea what's going on in this thread, but I want more of whatever this is.
I remember watching this and enjoying quite much back in the days. Can't remember the end thou, probably worth a re-watch?

Definately. It really is a great movie, and I mean "great" as more than just fun to watch. It's really a fantastic piece of cinema. The direction, cast and soundtrack are superb, the premise unique and it has more depth to it than most people notice, at least after one viewing.

I think The Renegade edition is a waste of time. Nothing can make this movie actually good, and with the most insane idiocy removed, Renegade Cut just comes of dull. If Highlander II is worth watching at all, it's for the balls out, pants on head insanely bad original version. Yeah, it's terrible and way worse than Renegade Cut, but much more interesting.

Christopher Lambert in his element.

Breja: As for Lambert, he's one of my favourite underappreciated actors, with some really good underrated movies under his belt. The first Highlander is one of the very best fantasy movies ever made, Fortress was a lot of fun, Knight Moves is one of the better thrillers I've seen, and his post-apocalyptic Beowulf is pure B-movie gold.
Knight Moves is also one of the best thrillers I've seen. Doesn't say that much though because I usually find the genre boring.
It's a ridiculously hard movie to find. Can't by it and can't even freaking pirate it. It took me years to find a copy on the net after having seen it and that was from a obscure site with a week long download.

Lambert is not a bad actor. He's bad at chosing movies and he's been held back by a ridiculously untalented agent.

drealmer7: and uhhh, you all know that Steven Seagal could kick all of your asses, right? He might not be a good actor, but, he does know how to actually kick ass. I prefer him over VanDamme and Norris.

I think Under Siege is a really good movie, and I like his other stuff (On Deadly Ground and its eco-message, etc.)
How so?
Jean-Claude Van Damme

2nd degree black belt in Shotokan

Kickboxing record
Total 19
Wins 18
By knockout 18
Losses 1

Amateur career
Total 48
Wins 44
Losses 4

Steven Seagal was great until he got fat and lazy. It's hilarious in some movies where they have a body double in fights and when they have to show his face when he fight they only show above his shoulders when he flails like a windmill. :P

Jean-Claude Van Damme is my favourite of the three you mentioned. He seems to have a greater knack for making very entertaining B-movies than the others.
He also have/had (Haven't watched his latest movies.) a bit of a revival where he made good movies again. He's not a bad actor at all. Go watch Wake of Death. It's a really good gangster movie.
