Why is it cheaper to just buy a new printer set than buying an ink cart replacement. What the fuck is wrong with this world.

usually the cartridges that come with a printer contain less ink than the ones you buy separately.
I have the exact same problem!

Well kind of.

I actually have 8 laying around the house.

And it isn't printers, it's dead bodies.
I'd like to get in on that printer ink racket.

Way better than my "precision by gog" post earlier today. :)
Used to be, in my area anyways, that it was legitimately cheaper to buy a new printer than get new cartridges, but these days they only have "Promo" size cartridges that can only do a few dozen pages at most...... bastards.
Keep them for the inevitable take-over by the cat overlords. Print a huge document in each of them and the cats will go into uncontrollable fits... rendering them powerless and vulnerable.

no need for ink, as the printer will still try and do its job.

I have an octopus trained for ink replacement.
that why i moved to laser printer and its still running
Now all you need printer owners are friends who need friends with printers and are in dire need of printing.

It is better if we stock up on laser pointers. The cat overlords won't have a chance.

I tend to use cheaper, third-party ink instead of the overpriced official stuff. May not cut it for fine art prints, or high quality photo-prints, but generally it seems to work fine and you pay a fraction of the official price.

It's the new-ish trend in electronics -- they sell you the base device for cheap, and then you end up paying several times as much for replaceable parts and add-ons.

Now I'm curious what would happen to a bunch of cats in a disco, what with all the light effects.

I guess it would be like that scene at the end of "From Dusk Till Dawn".

I think it would be like a scene from Saturday Night Fever.
