Learned about Humongous Entertainment after searching through ScummVM compatibility lit and seeing Ron Gilbert in the credits for the company. After playing The Cave, it makes me want to play them even more.

You should there actually really really good for "kid"/edutainment style games.

I HAVE A QUESTION, AND COULD USE SOME ADVICE:
As far as I know, basically the Humongous music was created by Jeremy Soule, and "The Fat Man" and his team. (http://www.fatman.com/) We already have music from Jeremy here a la Total Annihilation and such (and I guess "The Fat Man" did the 7th Guest soundtrack, which we have), so I'm assuming Jeremy's part of the music wouldn't be too much trouble to get here.

HOWEVER, I'm wondering if GOG would need to get in touch with http://www.fatman.com/ to license the other music, or if Atari owns the rights to it and could just let GOG distribute it without Fat's permission. (with all due respect to him and the team) I'm consider writing to http://www.fatman.com/contact.htm to see who owns what, but I'm wondering if that might just create entanglements. :-/

Any thoughts? Should I go ahead and contact him, or just hold off for now?

What about the Backyard Games? Not the silly ones with the official sports licenses, but the originals. I was in college and LOVED Backyard Baseball. Are they to be included with Humongous (If this comes to pass)? Keep up the good fight. (I also loved Freddy Fish in college as well. (I worked in a software shop and we had that on a kids demo computer, yeah, that's right...)

Pretty sure Fat Man's music is already here, actually, considering I believe it was he that did most of the sound track for Wing Commanders 1 & 2.

It's not here as free bonus content, unfortunately. That's what worries me a tad.

You know, they should do a video game version of "What are they doing now?" Fat Man and Tommy Tallarico used to be pretty big in regards to soundtracks, etc. It'd be pretty interesting.

Back in regards to your post though, I'd hope he'd want more exposure.

Well, I am going to throw my support behind the Backyard Sports games. I personally enjoyed the licensed ones, but that was because I almost always played as the Chicago Cubs and the Washington Redskins (in Backyard Baseball 2001 and Backyard Football respectively), and I always found it very funny that I could make a "misfit" team of kids and actually WIN with them, LOL. What were the funniest moments for me was when I'd make a big play with the one character who was "statistically" unable to make such big plays...

Anywho, I've had a bear of a time getting those to work on modern OSes, so I'd love to see them here, licenses and all.

I'm certainly not against those; I'm just not a sports guy, and never played those games, so I never got into them and don't have the memories you guys have. (Plus I assumed most of those games might have licensing issues.)

So, with 100% due respect to you guys, my personal focus is on the Humongous point and click adventures. Of course, feel free to talk about them here and do your part to try to bring them to GOG. :)

I don't know how I missed this thread, but you obviously have my full support. The Spy Fox and Pajama Sam game series (along with Jazz Jackrabbit) were the games that I played growing up that made me get into gaming. I would definitely buy all of these.

I'm wondering if maybe GOG should just try to release the SCUMM games instead of those + updated versions from Nimbus. That may make it easier to keep the price at 5.99.

Also, I'm still not sure what to think of the Humongous soundtracks. The Fat Man apparently has the Putt-Putt Saves the Zoo soundtrack on Vibedeck, at least according to the person that has the HumongousSoundtracks YouTube account. Obviously I really want GOG to bring those, but if they cannot without raising the price above 5.99, I'll work to create a Dropbox (or something similar) of the Humongous soundtracks, and share that on the various Humongous series sub-forums.

Hell I may do one of these kind of threads to drum up support to bring the rest of the Infocom catalogue here(though I haven't quite given up on getting the Sierra Discovery line here) since we already have the Zork trilogy plus Zork Zero, Beyond Zork, and Planetfall here so it would be nice to get the rest of their classics such as the Enchanter Trilogy, Leather Goddesses of Phobos, Moonmist, Ballyhoo, Lurking Horror, Stationfall, A Mind Forever Voyaging, Cutthroats, Witness, Deadline, Shogun, ect.

Not bad. Do you think those games would sell reasonably well at 5.99, or should GOG consider bundling some of them?
