Out of pure speculation, which games games do you think will be added? More fighting games or more diverse genres?

Here's the list of the games re-edited by SNK Playmore on my PSP compilation:
-Art Of Fighting
-Baseball Stars 2
-Burning Fight
-Fatal Fury
-King Of The Monsters
-Last Resort
-Magician Lord
-Metal Slug
-Neo Turf Masters
-Samurai Shodown
-Sengoku
-Shock Troopers
-Super Sidekicks 3
-King Of Fighters 94
-Top Hunter
-World Heroes
I ended up using Fightcade instead of MAME. I haven't tried every game so far, but it works pretty well with Metal Slug and Twinkle Star Sprites.

gooberking: What is with this browser "preview" thing? How are these versions made and how does that translate into it being fed into a browser for taking a test drive? "DRM-Free" or not, I'm not interested in anything that is tied to a browser. I'm only interested if package is is self reliant.

rtcvb32: Far more likely they have an emulator that can run on flash or something, and it loads the emulator and either a stripped version of the rom or the entire thing (not like they are going to be that big...). Think of it like watching YouTube videos, there isn't a custom player made for every video, instead there's one player that acts as a middleman and it's told which video to access..
It is definitely not Flash, as it runs on my computer that does not have any version of Flash installed.

Incidentally, the preview lets you play for 2 minutes, with the timer starting when you press start. You can watch the attract mode as long as you want. (Incidentally, this is enough to make it apparent that the games sometimes stutter, allowing me to conclude that the emulation performance isn't ideal.)
I've never heard of any of these games, and I don't even know what a NEOGEO is (I assume an obscure Japanese console), but seeing more emulated old games released on PC DRM-free is good.

Then it's probably Javascript. A while back they made a full x86 emulator using Javascript, letting you run DOS, games, i'm not sure if it let you use Windows 3.1 or 32bit applications (but it would be very slow vs a compiled emulator). Although dynamic compiling is making a lot of JS and other script and emulation much faster it's still going to be at least 200x slower than the actual thing it's emulating.

Here's a list of JS based emulators :P

Sort of. It was compiled for asm.js so we can assume it was probably written in C or C++, because according to Wikipedia;
Almost all of the current applications based on asm.js are C/C++ applications

Foxhack: I was just told this was ported by DotEmu. Is this true? Is there any way I can prevent Humble from giving them a single penny? :(
Eww, thanks for the warning, I was interested in this but seeing what DotEmu did to Raptor and Raiden Legacy makes me happily give this a pass.
So apparently DotEmu has replied to the accusations about the NEOGEO bundle:

25th Neo Geo Humble Bundle project: clarifications

Dear gamers,

Several months ago, we got together with our friends at Humble Bundle and SNK in order to talk about a project for the Neo Geo 25th anniversary. The idea was to get Neo Geo fans and players around the world legal access to more than 20 original Neo Geo classics, true to the original gaming experience. As we always do and have always done, we wanted to make those classics available for everyone: not only Windows users, but also Mac and Linux users. The three of us even had the crazy idea of making these games available directly on everyone’s browser. It has been a big challenge, a long and hard work but today, even if games are never perfect on day one, we are proud of the result and we are already working on the reported bugs.

More than a year ago, we bought 100% of the rights to use Gametap’s emulator Nebula, along with many other emulators. Legal emulation is and has always been our core activity. We acquired legally Nebula in order to integrate it in our own emulation engine and technologies, on which we have worked for several years. Nebula has the advantage of being compatible with a huge range of Neo Geo ROMS and shows very good performances on the majority of the emulated games.

All the ROMS and game engines we use are approved and validated by their owners, our friends at SNK. And like all our previous work with them, everything is 100% legal, and will always be.

We are a team of passionate people from Paris and one of our goal is to make beloved retro licenses legally available for everyone. We are gamers and have a great respect for those pieces of gaming History, and our dedication has been rewarded many times: thanks to you, all the Neo Geo games that we already made available legally along the years have an average grade of 80% across every platforms.

Accusations of stealing are defamation, and we cannot remain silent. We truly understand the confusion and your concern, but we can assure you that our work has been and will always be done in total respect of the games, the gamers and the law.

Thank for your support. Your opinion and feedback are always important for us.

If they legally bought the rights to use Nebula then I honestly don't see a problem here -- unless there's something I'm genuinely missing here. That being said, poor emulation and buggy mobile ports hardly excuse DotEmu. It's also bizarre that they still don't offer any of their recent ports for sale on their own site.

I wouldn't call it speculation as much as a burning desire to see Last Blade 2. I'm going to be unhappy if it doesn't show up next week. Aside from it, Windjammers, Matrimelee and the two KoF games that are currently unavailable DRM-free, though I suppose that isn't going to happen. And, well, why not the rest of the KoF games (2001, 2003, SVC Chaos). And the rest of Metal Slug.

But mostly Last Blade 2.

What exactly was the accusation?

Crosmando: ...
NeoGeo was an arcade machine with one key difference: the game could be swapped out. Thus arcade owners could just buy a new game instead of swapping out the entire machine. This also led to a standalone NeoGeo console, but it was extremely expensive. It was not intended for the end-user market, rather for example for video stores or hotels to rent it out. It did eventually see a proper release for end-users, but of course it was not a big success there.
I think the only reason I'm considering this bundle is so I can legitimize playing them in MAME. No way I'd be buying these to actually play, I'm sure the emulation will be as inferior as their lack of control and visual options.

Foxhack: So I uh. I looked at one of the games in the bundle... and DotEmu used a modified version of Nebula (a freeware emulator) as a basis for their own one. It also has um. Um. Gametap stuff.
