lol arent they desperate
Monthly Piñata fee for Windows Steam? No thanks.

This seems to be a sad symbol for multiple things:
- PC gaming = Steam for Windows
- There are so many PC games out there, that you subscribe to a regular stream and not touching most of them rather then waiting for a new cool game being released after months of emptiness and appreciating it to the maximum...
- HB desperately wanting to print even more money
- drifting even further away from DRM-free and multiplatform. :(

catpower1980: Funny, in French we say "to buy a cat in a bag" ;)
It's the same in German: "Die Katze im Sack kaufen".

In Czech republic it's a rabbit that's supposedly in the bag :D
They will have to start with strong bundles in the first 2-4 months to get subscribers. Will quality decrease after that like in the Weekly bundles?
So, its basically 1 bundle per month for 12$ with 100% unpredictable content, all STEAM and all for windows? Ah, maybe "something more" sometimes.
I think that Humble is just breaking new limits in being unhumble. Ok, they basically screwed DRM-Free policy. They lost interest in being "Crossplatform". Now that.
And i kinda have feeling that this Subscribe service will be their main dish in future, cause its guaranteed profits with not much of obligations.

yyahoo: According to an IGN news article, when you subscribe you automatically receive Legend of Grimrock 2.

Each month will include:

1 "hot title" game that's less than a year old
1 "highly-acclaimed" game that's one to two years old.
1-2 hit indie games
1-2 "hidden gems" from developers

Personally, I can't really say a blind purchase like this interests me at all. I have to pick and choose most Humble offerings because I own so many games on Steam from their previous bundles in the past. I don't have a whole lot of confidence that I wouldn't get a ton of duplicates from the Monthly bundle.
I had experience with Indie Royale preorders long ago (and more recent Groupees preorders). Most times it was rather "dammit, bad joke" with more or less nice sometimes.
And that preorders was just a way to save dollar or two, Humble Monthly i guess will be only for subscribe?

Must be hard up for sales....

i see there problems with this, since the games will have different system specs. this sales model works on consoles but on pc's ...
Too bad it's credit card only :/
I hope this new venture doesn't negatively affect the quality of their regular bundle at all...
This doesn't interest me at all. I hate subscriptions in general, and if it's always a gamble what I'd be even getting...yeah no thanks.
GoG gambling Luck of the Irish and Pinata has far reaching consequence after all...... only that the price influence does not get there.

Would have gamble if the price is $1-3 per month.
I just say that we have to wait and see. If you don't own LoG2 already, it's still a good deal. 12$ for one of the best releases in the last year? I'd say that's quite nice. You could consider the other games just an added bonus.

I'll probably try it and gift LoG2 to a friend of mine who loves RPGs but never got around to playing it, I just wished that you could raise the amount of money that goes to charity. 5% seems a little bit... well, little. :(

Agreed. That's one of the best parts of Humble bundles, being able to choose exactly where your payment goes.
The first one is just a promo thing, Legend of Grimrock 2 is not part of monthly bundle number 1. Many people seem to have the wrong idea. Or is it just me?
