A "DRM-free" sale is currently ongoing on Humble and it's a good chance to get some titles not available here like Super Meat Boy or now Schein.

Yes indeed, I grabbed a few a couple of days ago. None of them, except Stealth Inc 2, is available at GOG.

Community Inc
Murder
Receiver
Stealth Inc 2 - A Game of Clones
Viscera Cleanup Detail
Viscera Cleanup Detail - House of Horror DLC
Viscera Cleanup Detail - The Vulcan Affair

They were some of the cheaper ones that sounded okay.

I already had some of the other good ones, like Botanicula, which is cheaper at Humble and the Collector's Edition.

EDIT
All of these also had a Steam key as well as a direct download.

Linux users may also want to pay attention to Humble's DRM free catalog, as it contains some extra native versions when compared to GOG's. For example Limbo has a Linux build.
I don't quite get it: if that is "DRM Freedom Sale", then what Steam-exclusive games like "Trine: Ultimate Collection", "Tales of Aravorn: Seasons Of The Wolf" or "Trine 4: Melody of Mystery" are doing there?

Or did IGN mean "Well, they are DRM-free elsewhere, meanwhile you can buy a Steam key from our store right now"?

Yeah, while "Corpse Party", for some reason lacks Linux version there.

Overall, it is nice to track multiple outlets and not be locked-in on GOG (or, Heaven forbid, Steam™).

This is definitely on GOG. At first I thought you might have meant it's been removed, but it's still very much here.

Yeah, that's really weird. I get the impression that the people who work at Humble now neither understand nor care about DRM-free. I gave up buying there years ago after the DRM-free download to a game I had bought suddenly went missing. I managed to get a refund, but that didn't bring any trust back.

Well, a DRM-free sale is nice. But it's not all DRM-free that the call DRM-free. The freebie of this sale, Influent, requires linking your Humble account to your Steam account to get it. So, while the paid games in the DRM-free sale are DRM-free, the freebie is not.

Checked some of the games, and as usual it's just a shteam key, which makes it utterly useless.

One time in the past, Humble Bundle was a place you could buy games. No longer.

I take it you're referring to the phrasing "provided via Steam for Windows, Mac, and Linux and is also provided DRM-Free for Windows and Linux. A free Steam account is required." Humble is really quite ignorant in this regard, I'm sure by now someone must have pointed out to their support team how nonsensical and confusing that statement is, yet apparently they still did nothing to correct it.

What they mean is, you need a Steam account if you want to redeem the Steam key that you'll also get with most games. You don't need it for the provided DRM-free build (most likely a portable installation in a zip file).

Is it possible that during the DRM free sale there could be other games on sale that are not part of that sale? GOG does it all the time with the weekly, midweek and weekend sales and even more directly when they have random one off games on sale. There's even a thread about it.

Thank you very much
Keep forgetting Humble has some DRM free content, don't think I'll get anything though as DRM free is clearly and afterthought for them these days.

it was my place for Android DRM-free releases, but I kind of have all I wanted.
As for PC games, they care to tell you if they have a DRM-free installer or not and that's not bad.

Tbh I kept forgetting it too until recently I download and stored all my Humble installers on my HD.

Oops, somehow I forgot to check for that one at GOG ... probably because it was a late indecisive (on a whim) addition to my cart.

With all the games specified as DRM-Free, you always get a direct download, plus in many cases a Steam Key as well. Sometimes you get a choice ... one or the other. Sometimes it is just the direct download.
