So it seems. However $1 + 2.5 euro for Claptrap on sale is still less than the BTA

Tallima: Is the DLC worth the purchase price to a cheap gamer? I got the game on XBOX for $2 at Goodwill a few weeks ago. But if it's one of those games that sucks without DLC (like Alan Wake was), then I may rebuy it here.
Borderlands 2 vanilla is an excellent game, all the DLCs do is make it possible to get more characters and missions to play for the truly addicted. I put almost 100 hours into the game before I actually played any of the DLCs or alternate characters.

Highly recommend BL2!

Thanks trentonlf. I think I'll pass on the HB, then. I keep hearing great things about this game. It's high time I put it in my machine.
Just ran some quick numbers on the current bundle. The average sale is just under $6 and they have sold about 75,000 bundles. By default the bundle gives Take Two a 65% split, assuming that most people won't bother to change the splt I have the following numbers:

$6 x 65% = $3.90
$3.90 x 75,000 = $292,500

This means that Take Two has made almost $300K by selling two games plus DLC in the Humble Bundle.

Now lets pretend that these games were brought to GOG. As "new releases" they would start out on sale. Right now the full price of Borderlands 1 on STEAM is $20 plus $10 each fo; would be $15, of which Take Two would get about $11 after GOG takes their cut. At that price it would only take about 27,000 sales of just 1 game with DLC to equal the current profit from the Humble Bundle. Add in profits from the other games plus the ongoing sales on GOG and it becomes very clear that a DRM free release on GOG is more profitable that a deep discount pay what you want bundle. Even if they get 250K bundle sales, those are worth less than 80K-100K GOG sales. The question is, are there at least 100K GOG users who would buy the games only if they were here and DRM free?

I think this is the argument to make if you want games like these on GOG.

I think if GoG was selling 100k copies of anything on a consistent basis, especially titles that have been out for some time you would see a whole lot more titles here. I think publishers believe there is overlap between the GoG buyer and the Steam buyer (meaning one doesn't necessarily buy on one platform only), then they look at reports from other devs where GoG's marketshare is maybe 10% when titles are sold on both services and you have your answer.
Upcoming content is leaked :

Borderlands DLC: Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution
Borderlands 2: Headhunter 1: Bloody Harvest
Borderlands 2: Headhunter 2: Wattle Gobbler
Borderlands 2: Headhunter 3: Mercenary Day
Borderlands 2: Headhunter 4: Wedding Day Massacre

I picked up the $1 tier because it is a great deal, even if hopefully I will get the chance to re-buy on GOG someday. Still, it is not annoying how big publishers continue to use Humble as a loss-leader for DLC sales.
I'm glad they'll be adding the Claptrap DLC. I haven't played the games myself yet, but I watched my husband play and I fell in love with Claptrap.

I agree, and unfortunatley there are a lot of unknown factors that are either hidden from the general public or the research has simply never been done. The first question that needs to be answered is how many actuall GOG user accounts are ther, excluding alternate or unused accounts. Then, of all the currently active users how many are strict DRM Free gamers. That would very quickly address the issue of overlap, especially if these numbers could be quantified via market research into catagories such as:

GOG users who would never buy a game if it has DRM - x%
GOG users who would buy the DRM Free version if it were the same price - Y%
GOG users who would prefer DRM free but will still buy from Steam if there is more than 10% price difference - z%

In the case of Boderlands specifically, I remember there being a big anouncment when they sold 12 million copies. I don't know how those numbers are split between PC and console, but even if PC versions only account for 3-4 million sales, a 10% bump from a GOG release is still a pretty substantial number in terms of sales when compared to a humble bundle offering.
Borderlands 2, a game with whopping 45 DLC available. What's this? Another Paradox wannabe? ;-p XD
2nd week BTA DLCs have been unlocked. They are:

Borderlands: Claptrap's Robot Revolution
Borderlands 2: Headhunter 1: Bloody Harvest
Borderlands 2: Headhunter 2: Wattle Gobbler
Borderlands 2: Headhunter 3: Mercenary Day
Borderlands 2: Headhunter 4: Wedding Day Massacre

1st post has been edited accordingly (That's a lot of colons by the way).
