Thanks for the heads up elcook.

I've asked for a refund this time without feeling too guilty; especially as I also have the game on that other platform.
The refund will pad my wallet for a short time and then shorten my wishlist.

Yeah, but it doesn't necessarily mean their games are bad. We can still lose good games simply because the devs are lazy/stupid.
A warning some hours ahead would have been great. I was interested in the game and might have bought it.

You mean "other platform". The other platform.

Well, it is available for consoles too. I wonder if they are able to maintain parity for those versions, though... :\

oh, i know. that's what drives me crazy. i hate the idea of dragons dogma or other heavy hitters being delisted because of something so... so... dumb. i wish i could understand the difficulty of maintaining two up-to-date builds versus just one. i'd love to hear from a dev as to why this is so incredibly challenging on their end.

Well if you are interested and accept the game won't be updated, and decline your right for the refund they now offer...
I assume contacting them about buying it may still work. Do let us know about Gog's response, as it is interesting to see their stance over buying games that aren't officially supported anymore.

Me as well. I suppose Gog should introduce a new tag as *Not In Dev* for titles that are getting updates on other platforms but will only get an update "at some later point" when the dev will be willing to spend the time to make it into the DRM-free build.
I assume considering there aren't any game breaking bugs some clients will still be willing to buy the DRM-free build regardless, but informed and have a better refund policy for such games, such as 7 days automatic refund in conjunction with In Dev titles 14 days.

I don't think they can sell me a game that is no longer in their catalogue. Would probably be against the contract with the developer / publisher.

The Platform That Must Not Be Named.......
Gone already? It's only been 2 hours since this was posted. If this was a mutual agreement and not some sort of mandatory take down order, I don't see why we couldn't have had a little more warning. Even if it's missing some updates, I probably would have picked up a copy.

This is the kind of crap that's making me seriously consider just doing all my shopping on Steam.

To be fair, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to keep it on sale while offering "no questions asked" refunds going back even to it's release date.
Why are developers having such a hard time with GoG multiplayer API functions?

If they are so wildly different the GoG should have supplied wrapper functions to make it a lot simpler to substitute Steams API with the GoG API.
I tweeted the dev to maybe hear their side of the story. It's always good to get both sides, and it's possible something specific to GOG was making it hard for them to update the game.
