antrad88: When you are watching YouTube on the right you get some video suggestions. Many of them are terrible and often have insulting thumbnails (retarded faces, clickbait and that kind of stuff).
Try the "Clickbait Remover for Youtube" extension for your browser. Doesn't remove suggestions but makes them look plain and not attention grabbing.

antrad88: They also push certain political views. If you search news for certain countries or political leaders all you get is negativity. But media is also to blame, because they feed on negative news. Such control of information is highly dangerous.

Sachys: they stopped promoting nazis and eugenics when they changed the algorythm a while back.
Doesn't that make you feel all special and entitled and stuff considering Woodie guthries was all for eugenics.

Until recently you could click on the suggestion and select "don't recommend this channel" to block any video suggestion from that channel, but few weeks ago they removed it and I am again bombarded with crap.

Any way to block entire channels from appearing in suggestions on the right ?
The "Don't recommend channel" option is still available on recommendations on the front page (it mystifies me that it's not available from the related/recommended vids sidebar on video pages). Try making a pass down the front page now and again to pare down the percentage of uninteresting/offensive bullshit.

Mostly what I do is freeze my histories so Youtube has no clue what to suggest to me.

antrad88: Yes, but I could slowly block channel by channel and my suggestions were starting to look normal, now I have no means to defend myself. You can clearly see YouTube algorithm pushes the same popular individuals and I can't get rid of them.
If I may be blunt I think you're overreacting just a bit.

Also: What if someone uses such thumbnails but makes content you might/would enjoy? Then you'd miss out potentially on some otherwise good channels.

Most times on YT some people need to use such thumbnails to draw in a crowd(along with certain words in their titles)....else they wouldn't get as much exposure to their content.

Sure, some channels are just clickbait worthy of hiding(those top 10/20/etc lists only type channels, for example), but not all who use such tactics produce cr*p content, from what i've seen.

Repeatedly removing those asmongold wow reaction videos from my suggestions, and stating I'm not interested in the video/channel, seemed to work eventually. Took a couple of weeks though.
