It really does! I bought 8 games and got many more for free for which I would like to thank you.
This event tremendously helped lowering the number of games on my wishlist to 55 from 160+. This time I did my homework saving me time and the need to request refunds. Reading reviews and forum posts discussing problems, numerous bugs, lack of QoL features, bad implementation or insufficient support of keyboard and mouse, missing patches and DLC as well as abandoned games
still advertised on Steam, offered in bundles, customers asked to vote for the game ... the nerve ... had me remove a great number. Other reasons were RNG, plot-stoppers, QTE, railroading, repetitive tasks and lack of content. Browsing the discounted items had me identify even more games I would not buy now or in the future for one or several knock-out criteria I just mentioned.
I was pleased to see many new and upcoming releases, the Mafia trilogy was certainly one of the highlights. It was also nice to find Shadows of Mordor, also a
pseudo-free item. I hope many more AA and AAA games will be released,
Two Point Hospital for instance, it's about high time! ;-)
Theme and banner for this sale is nothing to write home about. They are reminiscent of leaflets and ad's of Media-Markt and Saturn, minus their tagline: "Geiz ist Geil!",
greed/stinginess is dank! A shame considering past sales and the wonderful work your artists deliver to make an event special.
While this has been a big event, it has been the third within a very short time, which isn't necessarily a good thing. Your catalog is chock-full of interesting games. Many of those are never discounted which makes them easy to miss. It's already difficult to browse the shop because it isn't possible to hide games and DLC for games to filter out games I would like to buy. Using tags to display or hide games by genry heightens the risk to miss many games, because they are randomly tagged as RPG->Strategy->Adventure->Indie. When using more than one tag, it will display more items of which only a fraction is of interest. This is why a hide-function would be a godsend as it saves precious time browsing the shop, particularly during big sales but also in general, and because it doesn't make sense to be presented with abandoned or broken games.
It goes without saying that they should be removed if at all possible. Finally I would like to share a thought about sales. There are so many that it feels like a waste of time to browse the store to discover what else you have to offer. I did today and discovered games I have never seen before and that's because they never receive a discount and no promotion. Maybe you will consider only games rarely or never receiving discounts for an upcoming special event.
My personal summary is that it wasn't special or didn't feel like it was. Just another sale in a long row with the exception of constant overexaggeration in topics and announcements. Time for the next sale to end all sales! ;-)

opinions on the sale, so please add yours if you haven't done so already. :-)
