rtcvb32: I'm going to say under 8k. I remember having a long discussion with someone and giving a long explanation of something, and a dozen times i tried to submit changes to my post where it just kept stalling (and it wasn't due to bbcode issues), eventually i just gave up the argument as i didn't want to fight the system or keep the argument up.

Regardless, the max length isn't going to be too huge, but it's certainly long enough as it is, unless you have excessive diarrhea of the mouth...

note: I'll probably duplicate this message in here multiple times and shorten it until i find the answer and note it here in a few minutes...
Cool!
I'd also love to find out as I do exactly the same. Write reams of stuff and then find out it's all lost *waaaagh* when I hit "submit".
Grrr.

Getcomposted: And while I have you reading, does anyone know how the maximum length of a post?
Where is tarnicus when you need him? :)

Grrr.
If i'm using my AHK script, it saves all my post before i send it off. But on this gaming rig, i tend to bulk copy it to the clipboard then submit, and if it failed i still have my last posting... Naturally if it worked i ignore it and end up quickly replacing my clipboard.

BTW: about 9k is the max, it refused to retain changes at 10k
Stuffs to do tonight or tomorrow when I get the time!
:)
And remember to copy and save somewhere before you submit! :P

Welcome. Although as a note, the limitation may not actually be a site or forum limitation, it may be the POST/AJax limitation from the browser, so it might be longer or shorter for other people...

But that's a guess.
Actually I have a post that is very close to the post limit as I edited it several times until I decided to leave as is, as I couldn't add another line
- Every time I did the forum accepted my edit but didn't save it. Though It might be also due to excessive use of links and B I U in the post.

tinyE: Okay Stars to Rep is as follows:

1 Star = no one cares
2 Stars = no one cares
3 Stars = no one cares
4 Stars = no one cares
5 Stars = seriously, no one cares, it's a stupid meaningless number. :D

Any questions?
Yep, then what's this?!
Getting one or two stars is fairly easy, while five stars is a serious achievement. Those who earn maximum reputation can expect some kind of nice bonus (surprise, surprise! :).

The 5-star guy wins the complete GOG game library?! >_<

None of the current 5-stars have mentioned getting any reward. And we are unsure if 5 stars is actually the max, even if the images do suggest so.

Does anyone have over 5,000 for rep? They could easily add more....

But based on the rate of growth, 5,000 or 6,000 would be 6 stars, after that 10k-15k, then 25k-37k. But that assumes a 2.5x multiplier. (6, 3, 2.2, 2.5)

Almost Quadratic, naturally skewed to get on certain numbers which make sense rather than something odd like 390 being 3 stars...

I suppose that is just a part of the ancient gog website ... I'm pretty sure it'll be gone on the next update.
Wait, doesn't getting five stars mean that the heat on you is so great, they chase you with helicopters and tanks?
Just FYI, this guy has five stars.
