Small question, after having tried to submit a review and checking the FAQ regarding this. Are reviews processed before being put up on games' store pages, or was my connection acting up and it didn't submit properly? I also did some searches here and found a few other threads asking similar questions, but without any solid answers. Since there are reviews up, I imagine maybe someone knows, so could anyone help clarify how it works?

I know it probably seems a silly question, but it seems a somewhat silly system that doesn't indicate whether a review has gone into the ether, is being processed, or otherwise. Especially given that, well, that's the best way to get people spamming their reviews not understanding why it's not appearing.

Thanks for any clarification on the matter!
Normally you should be able to post them directly. But perhaps your review was too long? The problem is that you get no notification for that and your review just disappears if that happens. At least as far as I know this is not fixed yet. So perhaps that is the problem.
Quite often any review i post don't go up right away, so i think they are checked by GoG first before being accepted (for obvious ads and spam probably), and could take a few hours.

As for review length, entirely too short, it's like what, 1.5k? Sometimes it's not nearly enough for certain titles, and condensing the review isn't good enough.

I've ended up posting my reviews/opinions more often in game specific sub-forums.
Have a look at this one. It might interest you.

Hrm. Might be. I kept an eye on the length though, to keep it short enough, but maybe making paragraph breaks made it longer without indicating in the overall length somehow, causing it not to submit properly. Would be curious, but unsurprising, since that does happen from time to time with websites not having good responsiveness.
I posted up a review of one of the movies weeks ago and nothing appears there. I just reviewed a game for the first time as well and nothing yet. If it does not post no point really putting reviews up I guess. I always try to make them balanced so it would not be an issue of content. Maybe some just get lost ?

I don't know.

:(
well, reviews here on gog work mostly bad
The reviews are there. You ignore them. Done.
No I don't ignore them, I generally find them useful. Then I usually check out a lets play vid on youtube.
Still nothing :(
The first rule for writing reviews and/or elaborated posts, is to use a local file on your computer because length can be an issue, you can't edit reviews and so on.

+1, you should always review and revise those reviews to correct misspellings or grammar mistakes. Your review will be more credible if you follow the simple rules.
Last review I read was a 5* review of a game by the husband of the developer, so.... Yeah, reviews here are kinda not very good tbh, so a lot of people don't bother reading them.

I can imagine there being somewhat jaded reviews as well. Maybe it's just me, but I thought there was some code of Honesty.

Nah, the code of rose tinted glasses rules here tbh :)
