I want to play with "Pool of Radiance" settings from the Forgotten Realms collectuion but I can't seem to figure out how to open the CONF file from the game folder.
Any tips?

Just use a text editor. On Windows, try WordPad (Notepad doesn't handle UNIX line endings well). Remember to save the file as plain text, or DOSBox won't understand it. (You might also want to make a backup first.)
If you are using Linux, you can use your preferred editor. If you aren't used to UNIX text editors, nano and joe are good choices if you don't want to learn vi or emacs.
