What other Point n Click have you played and liked, and why did you like them?
Chains of Satinav and Memoria are quite good. At least I think they are good. But Daedalic has quite a few great point and click, so...kind of hard to choose which is the best.

"A New Beginning" was quite a good surprise for me, serious story with ecologist undertones. It's often discounted at around 2€

Thanks!
Their Chains of Satinav games are good though and you could give a look at Harvey games as well. Deponia, which many seem to think is their best series, gets progressively worse by the game. The first is okay, but the 2 and 3 are almost unbearable.

If you want good modern adventures I'd recommedn King Art's titles. The Book of Unwritten Tales 1 and 2 are among the best modern P&C games and the Raven is also great dedective story in the wein of Agatha Chrstie.

Personally I found it dull and over preachy.

I recommend A New Beginning, it's one of the most underrated adventures from the Daedalic catalog but an excellent game in its own right with around 12 hours of playtime (hltb lists 9 which is way off as usual), a ton of item-based puzzles and a serious but not overbearingly heavy atmosphere. It has a sci-fi story involving time travel but the plot is cohesive enough to be enjoyable if you just go with. Difficulty is average with only few challenging puzzles, similar to Deponia but most puzzles in A New Beginning are less convoluted with only one that is simply too wacky and requires an unreasonable stretch of logic. The only serious flaw of the game is the English voice acting, I recommend using the original German audio and English subtitles.
Thanks to all for your answers!

All Daedalic games share a certain aesthetic which I find appealing, and I think they only really differentiate through themes. As others pointed some of their games are more serious than others...

I mean, you can just wish list all Daedalic games honestly... there's not so many of them... then depending on what you liked in Deponia - if it was the humor then Whispered World is probably closest, with the rest being a bit farther - there are other Point n Click from other studios than fit the bill...

So again, based on that 1 hr of play what exactly did you like so much? Help us help you.
Machinarium.
If you want to try it just pm me. :)

Basically i liked the humor in the first hour in Deponia,it remind me of the first Monkey Island that play in that ancient XT orange color monitor DOS machine! oh man! in the summer the cooler in that big white box almost left me deaf!

Thanks for the tip!
Welcome to the GOG forums! :)

If you like point and click adventures I can recommend you anything from Lucas Arts and Wadjet Eye, for both old and new goodness. The former has many humorous games while the latter is way more serious, yet you really cannot go wrong with any of their titles.

By the way: during this sale all Wadjet Eye games are discounted, and if you are lucky enough you might see the Daedalic Bundle (with all their catalogue discounted by an hefty 85%) coming back. usually GOG does repeats, so keep an eye on the main page!
