Emob78: It's not about being tough. Being a human bullseye target doesn't make one any tougher than someone who shoots at said bullseye targets. It's about getting thicker armor in order to deal with life's troubles. In the end it's all about state of mind.
tinyE: I'm going to stretch an analogy here but there is a great scene in the 2nd X-Men movie when Mystique is griping about being taunted for her appearance. Night Crawler ask her, 'You can look like anyone you want, why not just do that?' to which she replies, 'I shouldn't have too.'
Yes we can get thicker skin, but isn't that kind of like letting 'the bully' get a free pass? Someone wants to be an asshole and threaten me in here, regardless of if they mean it or not, that is a problem the instigator has not me, so the person issuing the threat should have to change, not me.
Depends. In the technical you could be referring to THE bully, but in the philosophical it's more fitting to understand THOSE bullies as the reality. Whether or not you overcome
A challenge, more are to come. Eventually, in the end you're going to have to grow that thicker skin. One can not overcome all obstacles in life with bluff and circumstance. And the best way to begin to deal with challenges would be to prioritize them in order by threat level. For me, some asshole on the internet throwing insults and threats at me would rank a jack point shit. If I saved my GOG PMs sent from other people to me and showed them to you, you'd get a laugh. I know I have. Vague threats online are one thing, a punch to the face is something entirely else. One must learn how to spot the difference.
