It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Breja: No, no, it goes

"how many of gog's top men do you need to change a bulb?"
"GOG's top men can't change anything."

NoNewTaleToTell: But I can assure you that they're taking your feedback into consideration! I mean, they're not gonna do anything with it, but they're definitely considering your feedback!
exactly. thats how gog is splitting its staff into top men and common men. the top men take every feedback into consideration.
I have seen a few people making comments along the lines of "stop trying to make galaxy mandatory" and similar - but I havent seen any hint of why people are saying it. What am I missing?

There were issues of some games installing Galaxy without asking, and problems with some games not woriking without it (more along the lines of technical bugs then intentional forcing of Galaxy I think, but support was not able to provide better answers then "install Galaxy"). I had no such issues myself so far though, so I might have missed something.

well for me personally, I feel that way b/c chat only works on galaxy. if i try to use it with firefox it crashes hard. Further, I am not the only one with this problem, and so far no blue has addressed it. So for me I feel like I am left with either using IE (shudders) or something equally as bad, which I won't do, or be forced to use galaxy, which should not be since gog is so anti-DRM and mandatory clients.

edit: oh and i've totally made a ticket and just got a generic response. i sent more responses but haven't heard anything.

People having bugs and support's only response was "install galaxy!", hiding the GOG Downloader links and generally making the Downloader more difficult to use as well as dropping support for the Downloader, I believe (and I'm not putting any concrete claims here) that a game had content that could be unlocked instantly via Galaxy but much later in the game without Galaxy, things like that.

Basically the GOG Downloader will be obsolete soon enough and you'll have to use either the Browser downloads (which are inconsistent) or Galaxy, and I'm betting that they'll eventually do away with the Browser downloads, but that's just a baseless prediction...

i'm assuming that games with multiplayer support always install parts of galaxy.

It does sound like there are problems at the moment with a few things from the responses, hopefully it is just early problems with a new system.

Although I do think getting rid of the downloader should be the end goal, but they should not get rid of browser downloads or make galaxy any more required than the downloader. Replacing the optional downloader with a substantially better optional downloader does make sense to me though - keeps development focused. That is just my opinon there though.

Breja: I'm sure their "top men" are working on it.

It's been over a week since the deadline for fixing the forum, and since then it's dea air. Please, vote here for better communication from GOG. The fact that the chat and forum remain the way they are is bad enough, but the fact there are no reliable updates is even worse.

Exactly, I dunno just wat's taking the 'Top Men' so long 2 fix (or rather unfix, if u know wat I mean) a simple thing such as the chat system. The least they could do is explain in detail 4 the delay. I know they didn't exactly promised us that it wld be fixed BY last week b4 they gave the standard 'we-r-still-working-on-it' response but it's already over a week now with NO updates whatsoever & I feel that is kinda unacceptable. Starting 2 lose my faith with GOG Support...
